The Experience

You are sandwiched between vineyards, hot springs and the Ligurian coast. These two spacious stone houses in a lovely Piedmontese hilltop village can sleep 4-5 in the main house ‘Romeo’ and up to 6-7 more in ‘Juliet’.  Crunch over gravel and enter chunky walls. The kitchen is a delicious blend of vintage limed wood with state-of-the-art appliances; chop and chat at a central island, dine at an antique table.

You eat under a shady portico in the private courtyard, with a side dish of green valley views. In the large tiled living room, cushions are piled high on leather sofas and artworks dance on lime washed walls. More hotspots are an antique tiled breakfast room with sunny balcony and elegant bedrooms with antique wardrobes or a four-poster.

The local trattoria can deliver meals, and Alba (famous for truffles) and Genoa are close. If you are a painter you can use the studio here – a cool vaulted cellar. Join many walking and cycling paths.

Reviews

We had a wonderful time at beautiful Casa D'orglesi. We were 8 adults and 2 todlers and the house accommodated us nicely. Even though it was a hot summer, the thick stonewalls gave us shade. The house is fantastic - so stunningly restored and with a fantastic terrace facing the valley. The small town is charming and our hosts were very concerning and helpful.

The amazing views are something else and that's before going inside this property. Ideal for groups, families and friends alike. Artists will love the new art studio and nearby historic towns. It's a food/wine lovers paradise with some of Italy's best wine coming from this area. For the more active, walking and cycling on your doorstep otherwise just laze by the plunge pool with a good book!

It was a lovely house with a beautiful location and views where we had a very nice week with the family. The house is in tip-top order and the splash pool is the icing on the cake. Beautiful terraces where you can always find sun or shade. Daily groceries are within walking distance and supermarkets are a short drive away. Beautiful surroundings with beautiful villages nearby.

We had a very nice stay. The owner is verry helpful and the accommodation is really nice and comfortable. We like the free space for each couple and the family feeling on the other hand.

Herman, Emmen

We stayed at this delightful villa in early March, and were very lucky to have sunny, warm weather - we were able to sit outside for after-lunch coffee and admire the splendid view. The villa is spacious and elegant, yet informal and comfortable: the owners have sourced and upcycled attractive traditional furniture from local antique dealers and markets, yet there are all mod cons. We enjoyed our stay here very much; the small hill village is in the midst of beautiful wine country and it is well worth exploring the interesting towns and villages in the area. Highly recommended

We had a really lovely stay at Casa degli Orsi. The house is beautifully furnished and has a lovely layout and feel. The view from the courtyard is amazing and our 18 month old daughter loved the visiting rabbits from next door! The owners were really helpful and there was a welcoming bottle of wine and toys for our daughter on arrival. Some of the local slow food restaurants are well worth a visit, as are some of the smaller local wineries, and we picked up some great food from the market in Acqui Terme. Overall we wish we could have stayed longer - a great place to relax and enjoy.

Casa Degli Orsi is a beautiful villa in Orsara Bormida in Piedmont. It has obviously been lovingly restored. It combines all the charm and authenticity of an old Italian villa with a clean, modern and very functional interior. Peter Bear, the owner, provided a wealth of local information and readily agreed to us occupying a more comfortable room to make our stay more enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to enjoy a very restful week in the splendour of the unspoilt Italian countryside, with all the amenities of Acqui Terme fifteen minutes away.

Terry

What a joyous place, spacious and beautifully finished, with a real sense that the place is very well loved. And what a view! We hope to return one day for a longer stay, with a bigger group, and have luxuriant feasts at the lovely big dining table. Splendid!

Joss

We wanted to tell you how much we appreciated your wonderful house! It is un bijou! We felt so well there that we spent much time in the courtyard, bathing in the sun, discussing, having nice lunches, etc etc. But specially we felt that the view of the valley, the vineyards, the village - is a very inspiring place, for thinking, for artists, for writing...... We appreciated every detail in the house, from the furniture to the décor, the nice kitchen, everything perfectly fitting to this Italian ‘Slow Food’ Piedmont. We found really good food and went very often to Acqui Terme where we loved the atmosphere and ate our daily ice cream there. This little town is a jewel!
