The Experience

Set between ancient olive groves and dry-stone walls, this single-storey villa was built by its Italian owners in 2024. Whitewashed walls, local stone floors, and generous outdoor spaces set the tone for slow living shaped by sun, breeze, and birdsong.

Inside, all is cool with air conditioning. Two bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, have French windows that open out onto the garden. The simple living space is spacious and light-filled, with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and study with a sofa and desk. There’s a panoramic roof terrace for stargazing, a barbecue and covered patio for al fresco dining, and a west-facing pergola for sipping sundowners. The fresh and fragrant breeze from the Adriatic Sea makes even the warmest summer days pleasant.

Surrounding the villa, a scented garden of lavender, rosemary, fig, almond and pomegranate sweeps down the hill to a grove of olives. A saltwater pool offers a cool respite, while shaded sun loungers look out over the valley.

Reviews

A stay at Mura di Levante is rejuvenating. The gardens, full of fragrant and floral plants on the terraces and along the paths, provide a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The indoor and outdoor areas are spacious and the view of the hills and nature will give you magical moments.

Andrea, Rome

The place is very charming, less than 10’ from Ostuni (the bakery located in the old town early is highly recommended, as well as the fishmonger and the fresh cheese shop, all located within a few kilometers from the house). Marta and Fabio have done a wonderful job in creating a unique experience. The interiors are made with local materials - we loved walking barefoot, the kitchen is very functional with two external table options for either breakfast or dining. The house is surrounded with amazing botanicals (lavender was my favourite) leading to the swimming pool with turquoise water.

Location

The neighbourhood

Nearby, the ‘White City’ of Ostuni (6km) is a maze of alleys, arches and sun-drench piazzas, with a vibrant Saturday market. Visit Cisternino (14km), one of Italy’s ‘Most Beautiful Villages’, and Ceglie Messapica (10km), the region’s gastronomic capital. Explore the white palaces and grand churches of Martina Franca (20km) and wander through the perfectly circular old town of Locorotondo (23km).

Local points of interest from Marta & Fabio

  • Ostuni, the beautiful white city. .Just 5 minutes away, Ostuni is a dazzling hilltop town with whitewashed alleys, panoramic views, and lively piazzas — ideal for aperitivo at sunset and soaking in southern Italian charm.
  • Coastal Charm at Torre Guaceto. This protected marine reserve blends dunes, turquoise water, and shaded trails. Great for a day of swimming, picnicking, or cycling — all under the watchful eye of ancient watchtowers.
  • Ceglie Messapica’s Culinary Soul. Wander Ceglie’s quiet stone lanes to discover one of Puglia’s oldest towns — and a true food lover’s haven. From gourmet trattorias to ancient bakeries, every bite here tells a story of tradition.
  • Cisternino’s Piazza at Dusk. Sip a spritz in Cisternino’s old piazza as the sun dips behind the rooftops. This slow-living village is known for its meat grilled to order and labyrinth of bougainvillea-framed alleys.
  • Locorotondo’s Timeless Grace. Perched in the Valle d’Itria hills, Locorotondo is a quiet gem. Stroll through its circular old town, discover artisan wine shops, and hear live folk music echo from vaulted churches.
  • Vintage Market in Martina Franca. Every third Sunday, treasure hunters descend on Martina Franca’s vintage market. From mid-century ceramics to antique linens — all framed by Baroque balconies and stylish cafés.
