The Experience

Close to the baroque beauty of Noto, this delightfully eclectic place to stay is tucked into tree-studded hills overlooking the ocean. The main building is fairly modern and consists of generous suites (some with private terraces) while a separate suite and a family cottage are perfect if you prefer more privacy.

Interiors are softened with local Caltagirone ceramics, vintage photographs and oriental sculptures sourced from Parisian markets, reflecting the owner’s cosmopolitan spirit. He lives on the top floor with his dog and hosts bi-weekly sunset socials for guests to gather for an aperitivo.

Soothe in the spa or float in the pool with a view. Leafy terraces and walkways open onto 12-hectares where you’ll find plenty of shady spots to soak up the peace. Breakfast is a treat – seasonal, homemade and locally sourced. Lunches and evening meals with Sicilian wines are by request or nip to Noto in under ten minutes.

Location

The neighbourhood

You can be on the coast in 20 minutes for some wonderful beaches at Elora and Pizzuta. Vendicari Nature Reserve and Wildlife Oasis is a 30 minute drive for fantastic birdwatching, walking trails and beach access. Also good hiking at Noto Antica and Cava Grande. Noto is glorious, wander the Corso Vittorio Emanuele for baroque palazzi and churches, and take your pick for dining out - Italo can advise.

The view from our hill makes Tenuta Olive Alive one of the most picturesque places around Noto. The view stretches from the hills of the hinterland to the southernmost tip of Sicily.
Many of our products (honey, jams, marmalades, sauces, olive oil) are made using ingredients grown on our land. We have the organic certificate.
We mainly cook with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.
Noto, the nearest town, is just 2.5km from Tenuta Olive Alive. Other towns rich in artistic heritage (Siracusa, Ragusa, Modica, Scicli) are just a 40-minute drive away.
Not far from Tenuta Olive Alive, there are some interesting walks suitable for all abilities (Vendicari Nature Reserve, Cavagrande, Cava Carosello, Pantalica).
Close to Tenuta Olive Alive there are several vineyards that are open to visitors and offer wine tastings.

Italo Persegani

Italo’s eclectic spirit lives on at this estate, his home and a reflection of his Sicilian roots. Born in Caltanissetta, he returned to Sicily after years in Paris and around the world. Built among centuries-old olive trees (he produces his own oil), the estate blends hospitality, wellbeing, art, poetry and sustainability. His passion also extends to humanitarian work in Zambia.
