The Experience

In the heart of the Dolomites, a family-run maso, characterful with ancient beams and thick stone walls, takes you back in time. Farmyard life unfolds around you – gentle cows chewing the cud, happy hens pecking and a kitchen garden bursting with fresh veg. Make your breakfasts sing with the owners’ fresh produce including eggs, milk, homemade elderflower syrup, pickled courgettes, strawberry jam…

You stay in one of two sleek self-catering apartments, overlooking Alpine meadows or Castelrotto’s rooftops. Bespoke wooden furniture, clean lines and compact kitchens and bathrooms make them perfect for couples or small families who want to be independent. Wander into town for traditional South Tyrolean restaurants, pizzerias, cafés and bars and enjoy a real taste of village life.

A mosaic of nature surrounds you; walk through forests alive with wildlife, frolic through fragrant fields in summer and explore snowy peaks in winter.

Reviews

At Schulmeisterhof, time slows between ancient beams, sunlit meadows and the gentle sound of cowbells. Deborah and Matthias share not only their family farmhouse and fresh produce, but the rhythm of village life, from music and markets to mountain trails. A place where Dolomite peaks frame cosy apartments, where you feel cocooned and cared for, and where every season brings its own magic.

Introducing

Deborah & Matthias

The farm has been family run for three generations – Deborah and Matthias took the reins in 2020. In addition to running the farm, they've renovated and modernised the two apartments in order to share their beautiful corner of the world with guests. Deeply involved in village life, they are long-standing members of the Castelrotto band.
