The Experience
A 16th-century olive farm with original charm entirely intact, surrounded by olive groves and ancient oaks. Immersive experiences include yoga, Pilates, meditation and olive oil tastings, so you’ll feel utterly rooted to this glorious space – or you can just come to do your own thing. Interiors in the main house are warm and elegant; there’s a big open fireplace for chilly days, comfy seating, lots of books and a well-equipped kitchen (not huge but adequate) with basics for cooking in the cupboards.
Bedrooms are spread across the villa (two doubles and two singles, all en suite) and the Casina with a double and a single in the same room. The infinity pool and the yoga shala in the woods are just a short walk.
Spending time in the lush garden will be a joy – find a spot in the sun, or cool down under the shade of a fig or plum tree with the scent of jasmine and lilac wafting in the air. Al fresco meals can last a long time.

Location
The neighbourhood
You're in a wonderfully rural space; walks and hikes through the vines and woods will be sublime. The nearest town, Monte San Savino, is a 20-minute walk or five-minute drive – find the Arte Dolce pastry shop, delicious gourmet pizzas at the Ostematto pizzeria, and a Wednesday market selling local fruit and vegetables, meats, cheeses and regional wines. Browse the antique shops, visit wineries.
Local points of interest from Francesco Piattelli
- Arezzo - 25 minutes. An elegant Tuscan city rich in history and authenticity. Home to Italy's largest antique fair (first weekend of the month), Renaissance architecture and traditional trattorias. Medieval re-enactments throughout the year add character.
- Bagno Vignoni - about 1 hour. A small medieval village shaped by thermal waters known since Etruscan times. Naturally warm, sulphur-rich springs flow through the area, with spa facilities and open-air access nearby.
- Castello di Gargonza - walk from the villa. A scenic countryside walk starting directly from Maraviglia, leading through olive groves and woodland to the medieval hilltop hamlet of Gargonza. Expansive views over the Val di Chiana reward the climb.
- Monte San Savino - 5 minutes. Our local town, charming and refreshingly untouristy. Enter through preserved medieval gates, pass the historic aqueduct and wander quiet streets. On Wednesdays, the farmers' market brings local produce.
- Val d'Orcia & Pienza - 1 hour. A classic Tuscan drive through rolling hills and cypress-lined roads. Pienza, renowned for Pecorino, is ideal for a slow lunch and panoramic views. We can share the contact of an organic farm producing raw-milk Pecorino.
- Olive Oil & Wellness at Maraviglia. Experience our estate through a private tasting of small-batch extra virgin olive oil. Our wooden yoga shala offers private yoga and massage sessions or quiet space for rest.
