The Experience
The garden – full of lavender and roses with an old oak tree taking centre stage – is the first thing you’ll notice. That and the beautiful salt water pool.
Inside the house, a restored agricultural mansion built in the 17th century, everything’s been considered. Rooms are big and airy with original wooden floors, floral motifs and muted tones, comfy beds and squashy sofas. Plenty of storage and a desk for writing postcards home. En suite bathrooms are spacious with fluffy towels and generous walk-in showers. Each room has its own entrance, so it feels private, but there are shared spaces too – communal tables on the veranda and in the dining room are great for breakfast or a chat with the owner.
There’s no cooking (or eating) in the rooms, but you won’t miss it: breakfast is fresh and generous, with homemade cakes, good coffee, and an emphasis on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. If you want to cook, Giovanna can arrange classes.

Location
The neighbourhood
Cittadella (9km) and Castelfranco Veneto (6km) are just a short drive away. Beautiful Asolo (16km) in its stunning mountain setting is famous for its antiques market and fantastic prosecco. Visit the hills of Valdobbiadene to enjoy tastings at some of the region’s celebrated wineries. Romano d'Ezzelino (17km) and Bassano del Grappa (15km) are worth exploring for their history and culture.
Local points of interest from Giovanna Rucco
- Città Murata is around 9km from Castle of Godego, Cittadella is a medieval town surrounded by perfectly preserved walls. It is possible to walk along the patrol path at 15 meters high, offering a unique panoramic view.
- Brion Memorial is one of the most significant masterpieces of twentieth-century Italian architecture. Designed by Carlo Scarpa, a poetic and contemplative place that unites art, nature and spirituality in memory of the Brion family.
- The Prosecco hills of Valdobbiadene are only 30 minutes away and the possibility of visiting the cellars.
- A few km from our B&B we have the Ezzelini path, a path immersed in nature that runs along the Muson river.
- A few km away we have two excellent golf courses, Asolo Golf Club and Castelfranco Veneto Club Cà Amata.
- Cooking courses can be organised in the vinicity.

Introducing
Giovanna Rucco
Giovanna and Claudio (along with Ciro, the cat, and Bruna, their golden retriever) are warm and welcoming hosts. Having swapped office life for hospitality, they’re part of the "Slowstay" network in Italy – a group of hosts committed to offering guests a genuine experience of Italy.
Giovanna is outstanding. Everything one expects in a Sawday’s place and so much more. Bruna the golden retriever is an added bonus! The place: quiet, safe, professionally and functionally decorated. Felt like home. The food: each morning there was a different home baked item in addition to the Italian breakfast fare. The location: Venice is easy by train. Bassano del Grappa is a gem. Verona and Padua are easy too. There are small towns like Cittadella close by too. Giovanna is a life saver for both recommending and booking restaurants. Our Christmas Day meal was legendary.
