The Experience

Step straight from the main square (pedestrian only, so very quiet) into the kitchen, cosy but well equipped and with space for two to cook together – you eat here or up on the roof terrace. Below you is the main bathroom with big bath tub and separate shower, above you your bedroom with good storage, a balcony with views and a small en suite. One floor up you’ll find a very pleasant sitting room with comfy seating, books and board games, a TV and balcony.

Up at the very top is the roof terrace, with table and chairs for al fresco meals watching over the town, or seeing the sun set over the mountains and the reservoir. The whole house is linked by a cast iron spiral staircase.

Zufre is a charming little town with some small shops, local restaurants and the church which is worth a visit. Walks are splendid in the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park (a starlight reserve) or beside the Zufre reservoir. Seville is a three quarters of an hour’s drive.

There's also a municipal swimming pool open in the summer months. Explore much history, eat Iberian acorn-fed ham, visit quaint villages, caves, museums and well-preserved ancient mosques.
