Little House

I enjoyed a lovely September break at Little House, with my young adult sons and our dog. It's in a fabulous yet quiet location, just behind the harbour and minutes from Portminster Beach. The cottage is much bigger than it looks from the outside and has been very carefully planned, tastefully designed and furnished and supplied with everything we needed, including 2 cafetieres, a microplane and local pottery! Beds were very comfortable, and the shower very good. Dangerously close to the ice cream parlor, we also enjoyed taking an early morning coffee from Yallah on to harbour beach..

we had the most wonderful time at little house, st. ives! it is hard to list everything we liked ... the house was in a great location, beautifully adapted and decorated to make you feel at home during your vacation. the selection of furniture, fixtures, colours, fabrics, art work is unique - gilly truly has a great sense for interiors. finding elements of the interior decoration felt like a treasure hunt from one local artists or independent store to the next - we made sure we got souvenirs there to bring a tiny bit of little house home. T H A N K Y O U we are already dreaming of coming back!

'Little House' is a fantastic place to stay and exceeded our expectations. Location, the atmosphere in the cottage, the lovely outdoor space and the attention to detail made this a wonderful stay. Everything was so convenient and the house is cosy yet spacious and despite the fact that it's in the middle of St. Ives, it is tucked away so you can have your peace & quiet if desired. The hosts are super helpful (clear instructions and nice tips to get around in St. Ives) and very kind and easy to reach anytime. We absolutely loved our time at 'Little House' - we will return.

We arrived at the house to find it perfectly placed for all the joys of StIves. Just off the main streets and one back from the beach was wonderful. The house was very clean, well equipped, a little surprise on arrival for that added shopping experience was very thoughtful... and the garden an added bonus. We had a lovely time, and we would be very happy to reccommed it.

This cottage is centrally situated between, Porthminster Beach and the Harbour. So an excellent position close to all amenities. The cottage is ideal for 4 people sharing and is of a very high standard. Immaculately clean and also has a small private terrace to the rear. It’s near to parking at the station but obviously depending when you go as the car park does become full.

We had a brilliant time at Little House, everything about the cottage is outstanding. Restful bedrooms and exquisitely furnished living area make for a luxurious break .St Ives is lively all year round and taking the train is part of the adventure, thanks for a wonderful stay .

We absolutely love St Ives and even got married there this Spring. We've stayed in lots of places over the years but this really is the nicest by far. The cottage is in a fantastic spot - right in the heart of the town but really quiet too. The standard of all the fixtures and fittings is really top quality - we loved the sofa so much we've ordered one for our own home. The rooms are all really spacious and have everything you could need. We will definitely be booking to stay at The Little House again next year.

What an idyllic break! Location is fabulous, but the care taken by the host Gilly made it extra special. Everything has been chosen with such thoughtfulness to ensure that the cottage is cosy and homely, yet elegant and luxurious. Every item from crockery to cushions and cosy blankets feels perfectly right and we were able to settle in and feel at home as soon as we arrived. The wonderful information about restaurants and attractions made planning so easy too. You can feel the love that has gone into this cottage and it makes being a guest there feel a real privilege. Can't wait to stay again.

A really lovely little cottage so comfortable and well equipped, and beautifully clean,and the beds are really comfortable. Well placed near all the shops, and harbour and beaches ,easy walking distance from all the places of interest, and restaurants, and tennis courts. We had the most wonderful holiday, and can't recommend it highly enough.

This is the most stylish, comfortable, thoughtfully equipped place to stay. The owner couldn’t have been kinder and gave wonderful recommendations for places to eat. The whole stay was so lovely and we definitely enjoyed the elegance and luxury of Little House.

The perfect base for a family summer holiday. The decor is stylish, and the furnishing is minimalist enough that it always feels clean and tidy even with a family with two busy kids in it - and there’s still plenty of storage space. The cottage is located so centrally it’s easy to pop back during the day between beach, cafe or shop runs, and it has a wonderful courtyard for alfresco takeaway meals (try Blas burgers!) In the evening the living room is such a comfy space for winding down and the beds are super comfy. We can’t wait to come back!

We stayed at Little House for a week in August 2022 with our two young children. The cottage is beautifully decorated, and spacious compared to other properties we have stayed in St Ives. The stay was very comfortable with lots of thoughtful extras such as picnicware, and a sink outside to wash the sand off. The location is great, just a few doors either way from an ice cream shop and bakery, and 2 minutes from the sea. Gilly was fantastic and very quick to respond if we had a question. They also provide a very helpful list of recommendations of where to go. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The Little House is bigger than appears from the roadside. Good sized lounge ( snug), kitchen diner, bathroom and nicely planted courtyard at ground level and two big bedrooms above . Everything quirky with beamed ceilings and low door lintels( beware) . Motion sensitive stair lights for safe nocturnal journeys and similar bathroom extractor. All fittings in VGood order and well presented. Sonos bar in the snug and bluetooth music player in the diner . Downside due to the solid construction mobile signal non existant , WiFi works best in snug.

Amazing! I've stayed in many holiday lets in St Ives and wouldn't hesitate to rebook Little House. The owners have thoughtfully designed a luxury interior to a very high standard which is beautiful, carefully considering attention to detail. The space is deceptive with the added bonus of a private courtyard garden which is amazing for morning coffee/glass of wine/or eating fish and chips! The lounge is so cosy and would equally be amazing in the winter with the log burner. You have everything on your doorstep, coffee shop, ice cream and delicious pasties within a couple of steps. Just book it!

Little House was a dream holiday seaside cottage. Every detail has been considered in a thoughtful and stylish way. From the allotment deli voucher on arrival, to the enamel picnic wear that you can take to the beach. The comfiest beds made for very sound sleeping and the cosy lounge was perfect on chillier evenings. The location couldn’t be more central for beaches, harbour, shops, cafes and restaurants - amazing morning coffee on the doorstep or late night ice creams 5 steps away. We cannot wait to come back to Little House, thank you for making our stay so very special.

Location, house, price, interior, host, finishing touches - everything was superb! The only downside was our week went too quick! Thank you so much.

This cottage is full of character and in a great location 2 min from the sea, cafes and shops. All to a very high standard, clean and stylish. Instructions left were very clear and comprehensive. Beds were very comfortable. Layout made great use of space. Wifi worked well.We would highly recommend this cottage.

Little House is a charming cottage right in the heart of St Ives just a few steps from the harbour. We loved the stylish renovation and the cosy vibe and we had everything we needed for our family stay. Gilly's recommendations for local food were spot-on and we had a lovely weekend.

This grade-II listed fisherman's cottage in the heart of St Ives looks exactly as you would expect as you arrive from the outside, but inside the property opens into a really bright, spacious and modern feeling interior. Whilst maintaining period features and some cosy spaces, Gilly has managed to modernise them, and make them feel both airy and light.

Little House feels like a home from home - it is beautifully decorated yet comfortable enough for us to feel really relaxed. It is surprisingly spacious. We didn’t feel we needed to be out all the time, as we have done with other previous, slightly grotty holiday lets in St Ives which we have just treated as a place to sleep. The location was good too, the cottage being in the centre of St Ives but it was still very quiet despite our stay being during the height of summer with the town full to bursting. We didn’t want to go back to our real home!
