Steele's Mill

An idyllic, beautifully renovated mill in a secluded spot — we spent a weekend there reconnecting with friends and nature. Our thoughtful hosts, Karen and Martin, made the stay even more special. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Beautiful and unique place to stay in the Lake District - I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else! Lovely quiet location next to the river, we had the best stay!

Beautiful cottage in a stunning riverside spot—perfect for walks and even a dip if you’re brave! The sunny balcony is ideal for morning coffees, and the cosy interiors (especially the comfy beds) make it a relaxing stay. The old mill machinery is a lovely, unique touch. Just 5 mins from a great pub with top food and a garden. Hosts are warm, helpful, and truly local—not just a second-home setup. A real gem!

This was the most amazing place to stay! We had one of the best holidays we can remember. The accommodation was not only of historic interest but beautifully presented and really comfortable. Karen and Martin were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Steele's Mill is perfectly situated for hikes around the various lakes whilst not being in the thick of it. This way you combine peace and tranquility with good access to all that the Lakes has to offer.
