The Hay Barn at Ferendone House

The Haybarn was classy, comfortable and scrupulously clean; and has a lovely open plan living space which was perfect for a family holiday. Susannah went above and beyond, providing all sorts of things we needed for our baby, and personal recommendations for places to eat. Very much enjoyed, we hope to stay again.

Returning to the county of my birth, here I discovered wonderful treasures I'd not known about. I arrived by train and walked everywhere, the pubs, Jane Austen's house and other delights. Susannah was a delightful host, providing a gorgeous hamper on arrival, and super helpful with details of local walks and our other needs. The barn is immaculate with everything you would want. Personally I felt it would have been lovely to have more original features inside the barn (only two original beams showing) but this was outweighed by the warmth of the host and her attention to detail. Thank you!

We had a fantastic stay at Hay Barn as a family of 3. Everything worked well for us and our 4 year old, with a spare bed in the twin room for when he wanted some company. The kitchen feels brand new, with everything you need to make tasty dinners. The village is great to wander around, with lots of beautiful countryside around to explore. We spotted bats, a hare and plenty of tractors! The barn is set in a fantastic location to get out and do lots, whether youre up for an explore in Alice Holt woods, a trip back in time on the Watercress line steam trains, or just a mooch around town.

The Hay Barn fully met our expectations, and more. Very comfortable, attractive decor and ambience, with plenty of space including for the harp we brought along. Susannah is the perfect host - her recommendations for places to eat, where to buy supplies etc, were excellent. Lovely countryside, some great walks, and the Jane Austen attractions so close. Would definitely stay there again.
