The Hay Barn at Ferendone House

The Hay Barn was the ideal stay for our family of four (we have two little girls). The house is ideal for a short stay, clean, spacious and with all essential commodities you need. Lovely welcome gifts including locally produced jam and tea bags, bread and fresh milk. Susannah and Alex are very friendly hosts, although they live opposite you never feel you are being watched but they always check how your stay is and were very kind in showing our daughters how to feed the 3 guinea pigs they have, which our girls loved. The setting where the barn is located is ideal for country walks. Loved it

an ideal and secluded luxury holiday home. A large kitchen/dining/sitting room with everything you need. Three comfortable beds (one double) upstairs and a neat shower that does not leak! Walks from the front door in all directions - not much climbing - on paths and fields, and in the woods. The village pub Rose and Crown https://www.roseandcrownfarringdon.co.uk/ has a tasty looking menu, but we didn't try it.

We had a lovely stay at the Hay Barn in the heat of summer. Susannah and Alex are very helpful hosts (with a thorough COVID-19 policy) and the barn is beautifully designed, with a spacious and well equipped living area. It is situated on a country lane, on the edge of a lovely village complete with fine pub for good food and a five minute drive from the manor owned by Jane Austen’s brother, great for fine country walks and picnics under grand old trees. The glorious West Wittering beach (pre-book) and Marwell zoo are in driving distance. A restful place to get away from it all.

Fond memories of our wonderful weekend away at The Hay Barn! It has been recently refurbished and is stylish, yet homely. We were very comfortable and surprised by how much space there was for the four of us. Hay Barn is well equipped; even the children were entertained by the books and games on offer. We enjoyed walks from the front door out into the beautiful countryside, and a delicious lunch in the nearby Greyfriars pub (a short drive away) then a visit to the charming Jane Austen's House Museum, which the children still talk about. All in all, we had a great weekend and hope to return!
