The Experience
You’re on the coast road, a ten-minute walk from Brancaster beach, and this bustling bolthole for drinks, super food and cosy bedrooms. Settle in to the bar with a pint of Moon Gazer Ale or a delicious cocktail while you take a peek at the menu – the food is locally sourced, brimming with freshly caught fish and innovative Mediterranean-inspired combinations, and the dining atmosphere is relaxed and informal. There’s cheeky bar food too.
Bedrooms upstairs are a treat, each different, each bed topped with a fat mattress and rug; find splashes of subtle colour, quirky artwork, Roberts speakers, coffee machines, fabulous bathrooms, some with roll-top baths, and Norfolk Natural Living soaps and lotions. A brilliant refuge and a fun place to end a glorious day on the beach, or walking the coast path.
In summer you’ll be on the terrace, glass of local ale in hand, perhaps tucking into a Norfolk Black chicken cooked on the rotisserie.

Location
The neighbourhood
Just down the road you'll find Norfolk Lavender – wander the world-famous gardens, or head to Sandringham, open to visitors. Bird lovers will enjoy Titchwell Marsh nature reserve. Houghton Hall is close, as is Holkham. Hop in the car for 40 minutes and you'll reach King's Lynn, a classic seaport and market town with quaint streets and ancient landmarks – look out for the handsome Custom House.
Local points of interest from Siobhan
- We're just a 10-minute walk from Brancaster beach. Many other wonderful beaches are a short drive away, including beautiful and unspoilt Holkham beach (25 mins) and Burnham Overy Staithe (20 mins), our personal favourite for a walk.
- Houghton Hall hosts a range of exhibitions and events and is just a short drive away, as are the stately homes at Sandringham, Holkham and Blickling.
- You can go paddle boarding and sailing in Brancaster, kite surfing in Hunstanton, or have a day out at Fakenham Racecourse or Norwich City Football Club.
- Fakenham hosts a historic market every Thursday, and for those looking for retail therapy, nearby Burnham Market, Wells-next-the-Sea and Holt have lots of fabulous shops.
- The area is fantastic for walking and cycling, with hundreds of public footpaths and quiet country lanes criss-crossing Norfolk.
- The Hawk and Owl Trust’s Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve, a haven for wildlife lovers and birdwatchers, is well worth a visit (25 mins).
