The Experience

Tucked back from the road in its own courtyard, this unusual little house is right in the old heart of Chichester. Enter an open-plan sitting/dining room with a cute kitchen at the back, a warm cosy space of open beams and wooden floors… a dark olive wall here, a blue sofa there, local art, velvet cushions, a wood-burner. Generous Rachel leaves you logs, muffins, Montezuma chocolates, soft towels, flowers, soaps from Molton Brown – every little luxury. She also offers fresh meals and hampers, and her ‘Eat, Drink and Explore’ guide to the area she loves. Bed and bath lie at the top of the carpeted stair and all is airy, peaceful and light, with low beams, latch doors and a classic-but-modern feel. Come morning, head south for the sand dunes of West Wittering, or north for the paths of the South Downs National Park. Or stay put and explore one of the most civilised cities in England; cathedral, theatre, galleries and shops are a stroll away. There’s even private parking in your courtyard garden, but with the station so close, you could roll in by train.

Clock House Top Notch - 5 Stars!!! We stayed here for the long weekend of the Goodwood Revival 2022. This accommodation is immaculate - very comfortable, secure, beautiful and tastefully decorated. So many thoughtful personal touches were included to give us a real welcome. Communication with the host was exceptional and access to the property very straightforward - particularly appreciated as we arrived late at night. Perfectly situated for local restaurants and shopping and very convenient for Chichester Railway Station. We felt like we had our own personal little fortres

Suzanne, West Byfleet

The Clock House is absolutely sensational. Nestled in a quiet and beautiful area of old Chichester behind elegant wrought iron gates a haven of exquisite elegance awaits. Every possible convenience has been thought of; from gorgeous deep fluffy towels to spare phone chargers, flowers in every room, to fresh bread and pastries on arrival. A small cobbled area provides valuable off street parking, allowing you to wander straight into the heart of Chichester to pick up a morning paper and return to your delightful flower filled courtyard for breakfast in the morning sun. In a word? Heaven!

Perfect - what more could you want. Location, facilities, essential quirkiness- parking right in the middle of town - go there and enjoy!

We have just returned from Chichester where we spent a wonderful week at The Clock House. It was just perfect. We met Rachel, the owner and she couldn’t have been more helpful. In a fabulous location, quiet and yet so close to the shops, cathedral, restaurants and park. The accommodation was luxurious and there were lots of lovely touches, such as fresh flowers and molten brown toiletries. We would have no hesitation in returning or recommending to our friends and family.

Hilary, Macclesfield

By far the best self catering accommodation we have stayed in. Small but perfectly formed ! We had everything and more that we could ever want. The fresh flowers were beautiful and the treats left by Rachel were very much appreciated. With the added bonus of parking and the short walk to the cathedral and restaurants I would have no hesitation in recommending The clock house. Thankyou Rachel
