The Experience

Step inside to warmth and comfort: a cosy lounge with a cheerful wood-burner and soft sofa for a morning coffee or an aperitif later on – the wine list is excellent, cocktails have a bold twist and there are plenty of low and no alcohol delights on offer. The bar and café area bustles with locals and the restaurant, Moda, is for fine dining with James Wilson at the helm – sublime British dishes with locally foraged and sourced ingredients, perfectly cooked.

Bedrooms (six in the house and four in the courtyard) vary in size and style, but all have Cotswold Company plump mattresses, exquisite linen and spoiling bathrooms with scented soaps and lotions from House of George. Wake to a delicious breakfast – house smoked trout and eggs your way, fresh pastries, a grand full English. Walk it off by puffing up Broadway Tower.

Balmy summer evenings on either of the terraces, glass in hand, deciding what to eat, will be uplifting.

We think you'll love

  • The wonderful food – you're in safe hands with James Wilson, formally of The Newt, and the sous-chef is from The Fat Duck
  • Not having to go home when you've eaten (and drunk) so well – just slink off to one of the very comfortable bedrooms
  • Bringing your dog – two of the ground-floor courtyard rooms are dog friendly and the walks are endless

Reviews

A beautiful, archetypal 17th-century Cotswold stone house, slap bang in the middle of Broadway – what more could you want for a stay away in the Cotswolds? Well, there's fine dining in the restaurant too (there's a tasting menu with wine flight option) and a super friendly team, happy to share their local knowledge. You'll feel well and truly indulged.
