The Experience

Inside is spacious with natural light flooding in through large sash windows. A delightful open-plan living/dining space with a calm, clean feel has lots of room for relaxing, playing games, reading a book or listening to the Roberts Radio. A well kitted-out modern kitchen is just the ticket with everything you need to cook a simple lunch or a three-course gourmet dinner. You’ll find a few basics waiting plus a bottle of wine and a bar of chocolate from chocolatier Coco.

Bedrooms are tasteful with a muted colour palette and plenty of storage; both bathrooms are pristine and stylish with Austin Austin organic soaps and lotions, hairdryers and straighteners – it’s like staying in a smart hotel. And best of all you have your own enclosed garden with a table and chairs for outdoor eating.

A few minutes’ stroll will take you to the Water of Leith then the Modern Art Galleries via much-photographed Dean Village in about 20 minutes.

Nicole, Bristol

Stylish garden apartment with delightful courtyard garden that forms the lower level of an elegant Georgian townhouse on one of the city's prettiest crescents. Sits on the doorstep of Stockbridge, a leafy tranquil oasis with a cool neighbourhood vibe offering an array of independent restaurants and cafes, and that lies within 20 minutes walk of all the city' cultural and historic attractions.

Local points of interest from Pierson

  • Stockbridge is the perfect base within the city, a mini-village of a neighbourhood, chock-full of bistros, deli’s, artisan and vintage stores, cut through by the very pretty ‘Water of Leith’
  • Walk the riverside path to Dean Village and onto the Museum of Modern Art, and just five minutes from the beautiful Botanic Gardens. Bordered by the New Town, it’s a wonderful stroll to the city-centre and the heart of the Old Town beyond.
  • Buses (a minute's walk away) can also take to you most anywhere in the city, or for those who prefer two wheels, a bike hire station is just around the corner. If you visit on the weekend don't miss Stockbridge's wonderful Sunday farmer's market!
  • Marvel at the architecture of Edinburgh’s New Town on a walking tour before heading to the Robert Adam designed Georgian House Museum, brilliantly restored to all its early-19th century period glory.
  • Take a walk to Edinburgh’s Botanical Gardens – A sort stroll away The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is one of the finest botanic gardens in the world. A pleasure for all, the Garden offers fantastic views of the capital's skyline.
  • Make like a local and go for an early morning swim at the Glenogle Swim Centre – Stockbridge’s beautifully restored Victorian swimming baths located on the grand Saxe-Coburg Place. On your return have a nose around the Stockbridge Colonies.
