Bemersyde House

We had a superb holiday at Bemersyde. The location is exceptional – with views of the beautiful Eildon Hills and the Tweed valley. West Cottage was the perfect accommodation for our party of 2 adults and a dog. Spotlessly clean, every aspect furnished to a very high standard providing comfort and everything needed. The cottage was very cosy and comfortable and the estate grounds were “a slice of heaven “ with peace and quiet in abundance. Dog walks were a joy – lovely gardens – surrounded by wildlife, woods and memorable views. We cannot wait to return. Thank you.

We loved our stay at Bemersyde. We were there for a Christmas holiday and it couldn't have been more cozy and inviting. We loved exploring the grounds, cooking in the spacious kitchen and sitting by the fireplaces. Margaret was friendly and very helpful when we had questions (we had many...). We also took a fishing lesson with Ian who was great and entertained us all with his witty banter. We will certainly be back, hopefully in summertime, to really enjoy the beautiful gardens.

A perfect stay in a beautiful house. It is incredibly spacious with fascinating history and art in every room. Every aspect was in excellent working order with the whole house impeccably clean, fully equipped and lots of activities inside the house (table football, table tennis etc) and outdoors including great walks with the river close by. The housekeeper Margaret gave a very warm welcome and provided lots of information about the house and the surroundings.

The perfect venue for our family gathering. Its large, elegantly furnished reception rooms, exceptionally comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and pervading sense of history suited everyone. The 6 children, aged 5-14 played endless games of hide and seek, table tennis and pool, whilst their parents and grandparents enjoyed the deep sofas, lovely paintings, open fires, beautiful views and local walks..as well as the odd game of tennis. Margaret’s warm welcome and briefing put everyone in the mood, as did her prolific supply of jams, chutneys and honey from the estate…a memorable holiday.
