The Experience

This very lovely town house, elegantly decorated in whispered tones, sits in a quiet village in the Entre Deux Mers wine region. Built in the late 18th century, it feels chic and charming thanks to the Antipodean owners’ smart renovation. Clean lines and wooden floors are warmed with sisal rugs and upcycled furniture. Walk in and drop your shoulders along with your bags – this is a lovely place to relax.

There’s a light-filled drawing room on the ground floor and a large, well-equipped kitchen at the back of the house with a generous antique table for convivial meals (and a welcome basket of wine, bread, cheese, and more). Double doors open onto the garden – a private oasis with a dining terrace, barbecue and shaded sun beds around a pretty plunge pool.

Upstairs, three double bedrooms – the master has an en suite and views of the garden, the other two have French windows onto small balconies overlooking the quiet street.

Reviews

A beautifully renovated, light-filled townhouse from 1790, in a peaceful winemaking village surrounded by a sea of vines. The bedrooms and bathrooms are ultra-comfortable, the kitchen large, and the charming owners have created a wonderful outdoor area with dining terrace, plunge pool and lawn. This would be a heavenly spot to escape with friends for walking, sightseeing, wine tasting or relaxing.
