La Récréation

The perfect base from which to explore the coast of northern Brittany, La Récréation offers the warmest welcome from the most generous hosts. Every detail has been carefully considered, from the hammam towels and robes for the pool to the gorgeously fig-scented toiletries. Youmna and Anthony are always on hand with ideas to make each day’s itinerary memorable and get the best out of this beautiful part of Brittany. And their breakfasts are utterly delicious: think organic yoghurts, artisan granolas and really good coffee. Anthony’s hot chocolate, in particular, is unbeatable!

We’d booked 2 nights but stayed 3 because this is a beautiful, interesting & comfortable place to stay. Youmma & Anthony are exceptionally warm & generous hosts, readily available with recommendations & help. Nothing is too much trouble for them. There’s a comfortable salon with books, magazines, games & some wonderful photographs & artefacts. Breakfast is served with local produce in a convivial atmosphere. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated with comfortable beds. Chatelaudren has an interesting history, and this is a good base to visit this part of Brittany.

We loved our stay at La Recreation. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and thoughtfully furnished. The bed was comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. We really appreciated the efforts the hosts made to ensure we were comfortable, had the best food recommendations and information on places to go on our days out. They went the extra mile to provide us with a fan when the weather turned hot. The location is very close to the small town with a handful of shops and a lake, which is perfect for a short circular walk. Don't miss Anthony and Youmna's dinner at the B&B. We will return!

We had a fantastic stay at La Recreation. Youmna and Anthony are superb hosts and made us feel very welcome. They had a friend of theirs who is a chef prepare us a meal on our first evening, it was superb. They reserved us tables in local restaurants on other evenings. We stayed for four nights, but wish we could have stayed longer. We were in the Music room right at the top of the building with views over the garden and town. It's decorated in a fun way with lovely old posters, school photos and musical instruments. We enjoyed the impressive breakfasts too. We really recommend a visit.
