The Experience
Surrounded by acres of woodland and pasture, a blissfully remote Burgundy farmhouse with charming rooms. Retired journalist Lee has transformed her historic home into a mellow countryside retreat. Parquet floors and oak beams endure in light, spacious bedrooms filled with antiques; each has a sparkling modern bathroom. Lee’s bountiful vegetable garden provides much of the produce for superb regional meals eaten communally. Only birdsong disturbs the deep peace, so go slow and laze by the inviting pool, explore the wild gardens, take a siesta… or head out to Vézelay hilltop village or medieval Clamecy. Wonderful.

Our stay with June at La Tuilerie was perfect in every way. Lee is a very warm and attentive host. The evening meal was delicious. Breakfast was equally good. The room was clean, bright and very comfortable. Swimming in the pool set in the quiet countryside after a day exploring was wonderfully relaxing. Hearing the song of a golden oriole as we did so was an unexpected pleasure. We will be back and we can unreservedly recommend this b&b.

A charming gorgeous place to stay. We stayed en route to Spain from UK then on our way back 2 weeks later. The rooms are so so comfortable with high quality furnishings and linens. Outstanding cuisine if you opt for dinner along with breakfast offering the freshest of ingredients. The setting is stunning with a sunset to remember. Lee the owner ensures every guest feels welcome, remembering our little requests 2 weeks later without prompt. A beautiful experience.
