The Experience

Owner Sébastien cooks superb modern French dishes from scratch and the restaurant buzzes throughout the year – non-residents are welcome too. If you don’t fancy getting out of bed in the morning, warm brioche and other good things can be delivered to your door. Walk or cycle (there are bikes to borrow) through 37 acres of green parkland, or get in the car for abbeys, châteaux, gardens, WWI sites. The coast is a 40-minute drive for blustery walks, wild swimming and seal spotting.Return to cool bedrooms and opulent bathrooms: one suite has a jacuzzi, another has two baths side by side. Aim to stay in the treehouse – wrapped round a sycamore, with a big decked balcony under the leaves – it’s the business!

Reviews

Diane, Wigan

Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay during a long journey. Staff are welcoming and relaxed, rooms very comfortable and the restaurant was a real treat. A menu of fresh local ingredients, prepared with care and served without fuss. Everything we ate was delicious. All this in a tranquil and very picturesque location. An experience more like a mini break than a stopover.

Caroline, Newcastle

Eleven years in a row, and 10/10 every time. Utterly charming in every way. Delicious food, incredible value, beautiful rooms. It’s always our final stop on route to UK after a long drive from the midi pyrenees, and it’s a lovely end to the holiday each year.

Stephen, Dublin

Amazing place, amazing food. It has become an imperative to stay here whenever we go to France. The proprietor is friendly charming and makes the stay an absolute pleasure. Highly recommend to all Irish holidaymakers, particularly considering the owner played Rugby for Railway.

Deborah, Market Drayton

We booked for an overnight stay with a meal in the restaurant on our way back to the UK from the alps. Then the 2nd french lockdown was announced and we were unsure if we would be able to stay. We anticipated at most a room and a sandwich picked up on route. However Sebastián offered room service and we had the most delicious 3 course meal with a lovely bottle of wine even though we were the only guests at the hotel. Breakfast was simple but equally delicious with homemade apple juice, jams and brioche. We’ll be back on our next trip. Thank you Sebastián. Much appreciated

Audrey, Broadway

Another overnight stay this time back from the Dordogne. Sebastian and his team score a 10/10 for us every time. His food is comforting and satisfying, delicious and innovative - the accommodation perfect for unwinding after a long drive and enabling a great night’s sleep. I cannot recommend La Cour de Remi highly enough. We look forward to our next visit!

Location

The neighbourhood

The nearest town, Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise, is a ten-minute drive - it has a Monday market, shops and restaurants. Arras (45-minutes) played a significant role in both world wars and has an important WW1 memorial and the Jardins de Sericourt are stunning. The coast is close too - Le Touquet (40-minutes) is an elegant seaside resort, popular with Parisians, with interesting architecture.

Local points of interest from Sébastien de la Borde

  • Headquarter of the British Tank corp during first world war
  • The Centenary of the Great War 2014. The front and infamous trenches which brought so much suffering to British & Commonwealth, French and German combatants are only approx 20 mins away.
  • Interested in Medieval history? The famous battle of Agincourt took place only 10 mins from here so feel free to visit the excellent visitors centre.
  • The antena of the Louvres is only 40 minutes away.....Visit Le Louvres Lens on a rainy day....
  • Arras and its famous square are very interesting to visit on an architectural point of view.... Specially on Saturday morning with the local market....
