The Experience
You have your own separate entrance through a shared courtyard and the feel is quiet and private. One large bedroom is yours, with bath robes, an honesty bar and comfortable armchairs. Leading off here is a big bathroom with local lotions and soaps. The bed is beautifully dressed in Foxford Irish linens and you’re surrounded by antique furniture and pictures – very much old world style.
You have access to the gardens when the public don’t and after they’ve all gone home. This is a real treat as there is so much to explore and you can join a guided tour at 2pm on Thursday afternoons between March and October. Breakfast is included in the room price and is taken at The Stables Café – perhaps a full Irish or fluffy pancakes.
In Waterford you’ll find many restaurants and shops as well as the pretty harbour. You’ll find two adult bikes waiting for you so pedal off to join the Waterford Greenway – miles of glorious car-free countryside.

Location
The neighbourhood
Garden lovers will remain firmly on the estate to explore the many gardens. Visit Waterford (15 mins) for its pretty harbour, medieval museum, good shops and restaurants, a Viking history experience or a walk along Tramore beach – miles of sand with a Blue Flag. Make sure you try a Waterford Blaa – a soft white roll usually filled with bacon and absolutely delicious.
