The Experience

Sign the blackboard if you’re staying for dinner – and why wouldn’t you when the menu is so tantalising? Everything here is produced locally or on the farm (including Mama’s plum jam); Paolo’s enthusiasm for his venture is intoxicating. He once used to nip between Italy and London with a precious cargo of truffles for top chefs. Since then he’s been busy restoring his grandparents’ old farm and creating this rustic haven. Find traditional interiors, stepped vine-clad terraces, nesting boxes for birds and a beautiful oval pool. Bedrooms are warm and cosy with beamed ceilings, beds are in keeping with the country style and there’s rosy brick flooring throughout. Image a day spent lolling by the pool or in a hammock by the stream as the children make friends with the donkeys, rabbits, hens… and two truffle-hunting hounds! Mushrooms from the garden, truffles from the hills, homemade tagliatelle, biscotti and sweet wine… such bounty is served at long rustic tables under the vine-covered terrace or by the wood fire. If you can tear yourself away, the Sibillini mountains and the Adriatic are close. Slow heaven.

Reviews

Donald, Bristol

This place has the feel of a secret discovery, a haven at the end of a rough track. Solid, traditional rooms, with good views, and Paolo, a natural, superb host, full of enthusiasm and local knowledge. He runs this place with the help of his aunt who lives up the road, and one or two part-time employees and a menagerie - including Coccola the donkey, five sleek Siamese cats and two truffle-hunting dogs. Good food, made by Paolo, all from local sources, at a long communal table. Do not miss this place if you are anywhere within range.

We drove over 3000 kms to stay in the Ramuse and we can honestly say it was definitely worth the journey...at the end of our week we felt so relaxed/rejuvenated and recharged...in fact we cannot wait to go again! A fantastic, gastronomic treat and health spa...give it a try?

We absolutely loved our stay at Ramuse! We were with our two children (3 and 5) - they loved the donkeys and kittens so much. We loved the peace and quiet as well as the stunning views. Paolo made our children wonderful meals at a 'kid friendly' hour that they both boggled up. We would come back for our own dinner a couple hours later. If you stay here you MUST eat dinner! They were all so delicious. We met lots of interesting people and had a wonderful time. I loved sitting out of my balcony - drinking coffee and looking up at Force every morning. Highly recommend!

We have now stayed at Ramuse twice - it is that sort of place where one can just disappear. Paolo is an awesome host and cooks up a delicious meal with all produce within reach and on his own farm. We visited this place with our 2 kids. We would highly recommend this place to experience rural Italy and an area less visited by tourists shhh...

Davide, Milan

We spent a week in this peacefully country house located in a hilly area between Ascoli Piceno and Monti Sibillini National Park alongside Paolo Ciccioli, the owner, and its loving four-footed friends. Paul, who delighted us with typical and organic foodstuff, leaded us on a 360-degrees trip into the countryside, from its amenities to the rediscovery of its traditional and ancient tastes, always paying attention on the ecology and sustainability. A genuine and relaxing place, suitable for both adults and children and far from the frenetic rhythm of modern life.
