The Experience

In gentle, breeze-cooled hills, surrounded by ancient, protected oaks and on the road that leads to glorious Urbino, the delightful owners of this 185-acre organic farm produce meat, legumes, vegetables and tonnes of preserves. You’ll find jams and juices in your pretty apartment and you’re welcome to collect herbs, fruits and vegetables from the farm. Foraging trips, visits to the farm, cheese making lessons wine tours and truffle walks can all be organised  – you just need to ask Giulia, who speaks very good English. Each apartment has comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchens and a terrace for al fresco meals with heavenly views. It’s very green here too: solar panels for heating, photovoltaic panels for electricity. Twice weekly meals are prepared with organic produce in Valle Nuova, the central building where cooking courses also take place. Splash in the cooling pool, walk for miles, or just doze with a book and enjoy the slow pace of life here. If you arrive at the airport after dark, Giulia kindly meets you to guide you back. That’s the sort of place this is.

Reviews

We feel so fortunate to have found this magical, beautiful stay in wonderful Marche! It was the perfect home base for us o explore the area during the day & have a gorgeous terrace, well equipped/modern apartment to come back to. We miss it already & are already planing for our return.

Giulia is a wonderful host and her farm was the perfect place for our small family to relax by the pool and explore the surrounding areas. The Appartment was spotlessly clean and very well equipped, the kitchen garden provided us with the most wonderful tomatoes and aubergines and the friendly cows an ever present feature on the farm. We look forward to return8ng as soon as possible.

One of our favorite places to visit. Hosts are amazing, friendly, welcoming and the locanda is clean and beautiful. Giulia arranged wonderful meals for us at local restaurants, and our cooking class was so much fun. It was our third visit, and we brought friends to share the experience. Can’t wait to return!

We have so many wonderful memories of our stay at Locanda della Valle Nuova: Our hosts’ warm hospitality, the beautiful landscapes surrounding us, the friendships made in just a few days and continuing in to the future! Our cooking lesson was unforgettable, all meals so very delicious, and the cows!!!! Oh my! I love them!!!!!

Just enjoyed a wonderful, peaceful holiday staying in Casina Nuova apartment for 4/5. The apartment is beautiful - spacious, very comfortable and well equipped and has stunning views all round. The lovely city of Urbino is 15 - 20 mins drive whilst all the facilities you need (cafes, shops etc) are within 5 minutes drive. Welcoming, friendly and generous hosts. Thank you very much Giulia! (p.s we're all missing cat like mad!)

Giulia was a warm, welcoming host, very patient ahead of the visit, with my questions. The apartment I stayed in had everything one could imagine to feel at home, right down to a first-aide kit. The kitchen was fully equipped and well stocked for my late arrival. I ate in the dining room one evening and a most stunning meal. Giulia and her mother are superb cooks! Not being familiar with the area I was given accurate information for the many historical sites this part of region offers. One of the best Vacation stays in my 25 years of visits to Italy. Will absolutely return!

Cheryl, Encinitas

Wonderful peaceful base for exploring Urbino and the surrounding area. Incredible views in all directions from the very well equipped apartment. Giulia was very friendly and helpful and speaks perfect English. Definitely a Special Place to Stay!

It's been a long time and we don't remember the exact date. It was our first time to this part of Italy and Italy being our favorite country....We loved staying on top of the mountain at Locanda della Valle Nuova in a lovely little cottage next to the main house. We have taken some beautiful pictures from there that we have had blown up on canvas with the rolling hillside and poppy flowers. Meeting the interesting Giulia was like seeing an old friend. This part of the country is not as well known of course, but we absolutely loved it there.

Local points of interest from Giulia Savini

  • We are a short drive away from Urbino, one of the most interesting Italian Renaissance towns, where Raphael was born and the most famous Architects of the time worked. Do not miss the outstanding Saint John's Oratory, a Medieval pearl!
  • We have been working hard for over 30 years to make our farm and house as green and sustainable as possible: we produce 100% organic and our photovoltaic plants (all installed on our roofs) make us completely carbon neutral.
  • Le Marche offers something for everyone: art, architecture, gorgeous views, antique music, opera, quaint villages and hilltop towns, great pottery, local artisans, amazing food, all in an untouristy region where the locals will be thrilled to welcome you
  • If you like great food and wine Valle Nuova is the place for you! We cook dinner twice a week with our organic produce. Cooking classes. Cheesemaking classes. Foraging. Truffle hunts: white truffles grow in our woods! Food and wine tours. Wine tastings.
  • We have a deep knowledge of the area, the architecture, art, food, traditions and culture and we will be glad to share it with you in English!
  • We also have 6 B&B double bedrooms for family reunions or groups. We can help you organize all kind of activities for your group, please contact us with your ideas and we will help you!
