The Experience

Snooze on a sun lounger under a pergola, wander the beautiful gardens, dip into the whirlpool tub, or float in the pool gazing at the vineyards and the Alcantara valley – it couldn’t be lovelier. Breakfast is a feast: Provola dei Nebrodi cheese and cured meats, fruits and squeezed juice in season, homemade cakes and brioche. Suites are all spacious with a minimalist feel, private outdoor spaces (most with views towards the vineyard), Sicilian photographs on the walls and spoiling bathrooms.

Friendly, attentive staff glide about; there’s a lovely internal courtyard with comfy sofas for herbal teas or a glass of estate wine. You can book a massage, head to the fitness area and work off breakfast or simply sit in the sauna.

Stroll through vineyards soaking up the peace or visit the three natural parks surrounding you – Etna, Nebrodi and the Alcantara River Park, famous for its gorges and where you can go rafting and hiking.

Location

The neighbourhood

It's a wonderful area to explore on foot or by car. Drive along marvelling at the Etnean villages, volcano slopes, ancient lava flows and olive and citrus groves as well as the famous vineyards, cloaked in golden light in autumn. The closest towns are Solicchiata (7km), Passopisciaro (6km) Randazzo (8km) and Castiglione di Sicilia (9km). Wine producers offer tastings, as do local food producers.

Local points of interest from Mariangela Cambria

  • An horse ride to discover the Little Gorges and a Byzantine house. A nice experience into Sicilian scenaries, an horse riding in the Alcantara river park of 1 hour and 30 minutes, to discover the hidden treasures of the Valley.
  • The castle of Lauria dominates the town of Castiglione, and it was born as a defensive fortress of the city; it was built on the sandstone rock, surrounded by strong defensive walls and was a perfect military defense.
  • Wine tastings available in the property or other closest wineries.
  • Reach Venus waterfall with the Alcantara Gorge Body Rafting. For who are looking for strong feelings, we have to reccomend a best excursion gorges Alcantara, it is Body Rafting.
  • Castiglione di Sicilia is a village between the Etna and Alcantara parks. Its narrow and old streets and a castle at the top of the hill attested its ancient origin. The town is full of monuments and artworks, especially churches such as the seventeenth-century Church of Sant'Antonio Abate.
  • Etna 4x4 excursion to visit the Volcanological Observatory and the amazing show of the Summit Craters from 3k meters. About 35 minutes away from the village of Castiglione di Sicilia, it is possible to go up to the Pizzi Deneri Volcanological Observatory, using special 4x4 vehicles.

Introducing

Mariangela Cambria

Francesco bought the estate in the 60s from Baron Priolo. His grandchildren Mariangela, Francesco and Emanuele now manage the wine estate and guests at the house with care for the environment. You will find charging stations for electric vehicles in the car park and secure storage for bikes. You are looked after by a sound team who do all they can to preserve the family atmosphere.
