The Experience
The old fishing port of Moraira (a daily fish market is still held here) was transformed in the 60s by a mushrooming of villas and apartments. The villa you stay in is typical of the area: low-rise, whitewashed Mediterranean style, encircled by swaying palms, and with jaw-dropping sea views from the terrace. It’s quiet, nicely private and you can stroll to a smorgasbord of restaurants, and the beach. Owners Mike and Sally (she hails from a family of artists) have used good art, interesting objets and pretty linen to make a bright and airy house for families. Grandparents will be happy in the en suite bedroom on the ground floor, while everyone else can spread out upstairs. Little ones have a play area with table tennis and the pool is fenced. The kitchen/diner is generous, and once you’ve whipped up a feast you can pour yourself a G&T and take it out to the terrace to plan the next day. It can get extremely busy in the summer so why not visit out of season? There’s a wood-burner to fire up…

We recently spent a fantastic week with friends at this beautiful villa. So very well equipped and homely and in a fab location within easy walking distance to both El Portet and Moraira. The villa has many seating areas dotted around the villa which meant we could always sit in the sun to eat and drink, irrespective of the time of day and enjoy the views over Moraira. However, the interior of the villa was also beautifully decorated and very comfortable too which is often not the case in villas in warm places! We will definitely be returning and can not rate this villa highly enough.

This was my 2nd trip to Villa La Marina and it just gets better and better...I'm already dreaming of the next time I can visit this stunning villa. The villa is beautifully furnished and feels very homely. The table around the side makes for the dreamiest brunch spot, and the round table on the veranda is such a lovely way to wind down in the evenings with a glass of wine. The location is a perfect balance of tranquility and relaxation, but with lots of places to visit locally if you wish to be a bit adventurous. Highly recommend the walk to El Portet and restaurant on the beach - so pretty

We spent a week at Villa La Marina in early February. This is a really attractive and well-equipped villa that offered everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Unfortunately we didn't spend much time sitting outside soaking in the wonderful views because of the unusually cold spell of weather. Our days were spent exploring the local towns and countryside and in the evenings we would stroll into town to enjoy the restaurants and cafes of Moraira. It made the perfect base for our holiday and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a private and comfortable place to stay.

We visited during a pan european cold snap and Moraira still managed to provide sunshine enough to sip a cold beer beside the beachs at El Portet and Moraira itself. The villa's ideal position allowed us to take advantage of the snow capped mountains, which offered the perfect backdrop for our walks through the almond orchards in full blossom. The local music scene is vibrant and we enjoyed fabulous live music at Saxo, which was close enough to walk to and not worry about driving. We dined out at several amazing restaurants, sometimes driving sometimes walking to locals with great variety.

Location
The neighbourhood
Local points of interest from Sally & Mike Harris
- Location, location - It is a short stroll from the villa to the sandy beaches at El Portet and Moraira, where there are numerous good restaurants, cafes and bars. To sit and enjoy the view at the waterside cafe at El Portet is heaven at any time of year.
- Walking - Explore the nearby tranquil Jalon valley, a scenic area of almond groves, orange trees and olives, or climb up into the surrounding hills. Enjoy lunch or tapas in one of the interesting bars and restaurants in one of the small unspoilt villages
- Culture - It is just over an hour to Valencia, home to the stunning City of Arts and Sciences and Aquarium. The city is most famous for paella, and for the Falles Fiesta in March where the residents set fire to massive statues throughout the streets.
- Golf - The Costa Blanca was voted 2017 European Golf Destination of the year, there are several championship courses within easy distance of the villa. We can always advise on where to play.
- Fine Dining - If fine dining is your thing, Quique Dacoste in Denia has 3 Michelin stars, and was in the top ten in Europe. Bon Amb in Javea has got 2 Michelin stars. There are also several extremely good restaurants in easy walking of the villa.
- Courses - We can arrange private art or yoga courses at the villa. Entertainment - Obviously the heated pool and the beach are usually #1, or go to a park: Terra Mitica, Mundomar, and Aqualandia. For more info go to our Facebook page.

Thank you for a lovely holiday, the villa and location were perfect for a week of relaxing in the sun! The villa is beautifully decorated and kept inside and out, great pool, table tennis and lovely bbq area and terrace for eating with a great sea view, as well as comfy living area for the cooler evenings. Perfectly located to walk to the quieter beach El Portet to one side, and the busier Moraira town to the other, lots of good restaurants to choose from and beautiful clear seas. Would definitely recommend and return!
