The Experience
The old fishing port of Moraira (a daily fish market is still held here) was transformed in the 60s by a mushrooming of villas and apartments. The villa you stay in is typical of the area: low-rise, whitewashed Mediterranean style, encircled by swaying palms, and with jaw-dropping sea views from the terrace. It’s quiet, nicely private and you can stroll to a smorgasbord of restaurants, and the beach. Owners Mike and Sally (she hails from a family of artists) have used good art, interesting objets and pretty linen to make a bright and airy house for families. Grandparents will be happy in the en suite bedroom on the ground floor, while everyone else can spread out upstairs. Little ones have a play area with table tennis and the pool is fenced. The kitchen/diner is generous, and once you’ve whipped up a feast you can pour yourself a G&T and take it out to the terrace to plan the next day. It can get extremely busy in the summer so why not visit out of season? There’s a wood-burner to fire up…

The perfect position to enjoy the surrounding beaches, mountains, restaurants and entertainment and return to a superb villa in quiet beautiful environment. The variety of great attractions, either on foot or short drive, was a real feature including different cuisines and first class music, such as the exceptional Rafa at Saxo. Restaurant Verd i Vent was a real treat in a fabulous mountain setting to go with the fantastic food. Finally managed to conquer Ifach as well to enjoy the stunning views in all directions!

Villa La Marina is a very comfortable and well equipped villa in a great location in Moraira. It suited our group of couples very well for an escape to the warmth, during Britain's cool autumn. We swam in the sea, walked the local coast paths, and dined out, all without using the cars. However, a short drive away are historic towns, olive and orange groves and lovely walks through the valleys and hills. The villa itself is spacious with a homely atmosphere and impressive sunset views .. and a daily swim in the heated pool was wonderful.

We struck gold when we booked this Villa! It's absolutely stunning, has an incredible view and is in the perfect location! The villa it's self is beautiful both inside and out. We spent most of our time either eating/drinking on the huge balcony, enjoying the view, or lazing down by the glorious pool in the sun. The owners clearly take a huge amount of pride in the villa as it's impeccably run and looked after. The location is ideal, just a short walk from the main town of Morira which is full of restaurants & shops, and about 4 mins walk from the beautiful El Portet! Highly Recommend

What a lovely place. The town, the villa and the weather were just perfect for an autumn break. And with a heated pool I could get my dose of daily exercise. The villa is spacious for the numbers, and the local town, beaches and entertainment are very accessible.

The neighbourhood
Local points of interest from Sally & Mike Harris
- Location, location - It is a short stroll from the villa to the sandy beaches at El Portet and Moraira, where there are numerous good restaurants, cafes and bars. To sit and enjoy the view at the waterside cafe at El Portet is heaven at any time of year.
- Walking - Explore the nearby tranquil Jalon valley, a scenic area of almond groves, orange trees and olives, or climb up into the surrounding hills. Enjoy lunch or tapas in one of the interesting bars and restaurants in one of the small unspoilt villages
- Culture - It is just over an hour to Valencia, home to the stunning City of Arts and Sciences and Aquarium. The city is most famous for paella, and for the Falles Fiesta in March where the residents set fire to massive statues throughout the streets.
- Golf - The Costa Blanca was voted 2017 European Golf Destination of the year, there are several championship courses within easy distance of the villa. We can always advise on where to play.
- Fine Dining - If fine dining is your thing, Quique Dacoste in Denia has 3 Michelin stars, and was in the top ten in Europe. Bon Amb in Javea has got 2 Michelin stars. There are also several extremely good restaurants in easy walking of the villa.
- Courses - We can arrange private art or yoga courses at the villa. Entertainment - Obviously the heated pool and the beach are usually #1, or go to a park: Terra Mitica, Mundomar, and Aqualandia. For more info go to our Facebook page.

We cannot recommend La Marina highly enough. Located in a quiet residential area but within an easy 10 minute stroll into town for bars and restaurants. The villa has enough space to allow everyone their own little bit of heaven - from sunshine to a shady spot for reading or a game of table tennis. The pool was deliciously warm - no easy feat in December - and the house heating and fire great for the cooler evenings. The kitchen is well equipped with enough recipe books for even the keenest of holiday chefs to try out produce from the local market. We loved our time in La Marina.
