The Experience
The old fishing port of Moraira (a daily fish market is still held here) was transformed in the 60s by a mushrooming of villas and apartments. The villa you stay in is typical of the area: low-rise, whitewashed Mediterranean style, encircled by swaying palms, and with jaw-dropping sea views from the terrace. It’s quiet, nicely private and you can stroll to a smorgasbord of restaurants, and the beach. Owners Mike and Sally (she hails from a family of artists) have used good art, interesting objets and pretty linen to make a bright and airy house for families. Grandparents will be happy in the en suite bedroom on the ground floor, while everyone else can spread out upstairs. Little ones have a play area with table tennis and the pool is fenced. The kitchen/diner is generous, and once you’ve whipped up a feast you can pour yourself a G&T and take it out to the terrace to plan the next day. It can get extremely busy in the summer so why not visit out of season? There’s a wood-burner to fire up…

We recently stayed at Villa La Marina for a week, and we had a wonderful time. The villa is spacious & comfortable, with plenty of room for the whole family. The terrace was a highlight, and we spent many afternoons/evenings relaxing enjoying the views. It’s well-equipped with everything you could need for your stay. The location was convenient, with easy access to the beach and the town center. Overall, we were very impressed with Villa La Marina. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the surrounding areas it has to offer. We would definitely recommend it to others!

Loved this wonderful home from home in a very peaceful but central area of small seaside town. Plenty of space both indoors and outside with gorgeous views and fabulous pool.

We had a great time staying at La Marina and we really didn't want to leave! The villa is perfectly situated and we loved sitting on the balcony in the evenings and due to it being festival week were lucky enough to be entertained on two occasions with fantastic firework displays. The pool was perfect as our granddaughters are learning to swim and would have spent all holiday playing in the water with the villa rings.

What an amazing holiday at Villa La Marina. The location is superb with far reaching sea views and easy access to nearby shops, restaurants and beaches. Set in a gorgeous, quiet, leafy suburb of Moraira this really is a gem of a villa. The interiors are carefully curated with the owners art and each room is tastefully finished with everything you need for a lovely stay. Our sons really enjoyed the pool and table tennis area. Head to El Portet beach for a more authentic Spanish village vibe and Moraira centre for eateries, fiestas and lovely shops. I'd highly recommend this villa.

Location
The neighbourhood
Local points of interest from Sally & Mike Harris
- Location, location - It is a short stroll from the villa to the sandy beaches at El Portet and Moraira, where there are numerous good restaurants, cafes and bars. To sit and enjoy the view at the waterside cafe at El Portet is heaven at any time of year.
- Walking - Explore the nearby tranquil Jalon valley, a scenic area of almond groves, orange trees and olives, or climb up into the surrounding hills. Enjoy lunch or tapas in one of the interesting bars and restaurants in one of the small unspoilt villages
- Culture - It is just over an hour to Valencia, home to the stunning City of Arts and Sciences and Aquarium. The city is most famous for paella, and for the Falles Fiesta in March where the residents set fire to massive statues throughout the streets.
- Golf - The Costa Blanca was voted 2017 European Golf Destination of the year, there are several championship courses within easy distance of the villa. We can always advise on where to play.
- Fine Dining - If fine dining is your thing, Quique Dacoste in Denia has 3 Michelin stars, and was in the top ten in Europe. Bon Amb in Javea has got 2 Michelin stars. There are also several extremely good restaurants in easy walking of the villa.
- Courses - We can arrange private art or yoga courses at the villa. Entertainment - Obviously the heated pool and the beach are usually #1, or go to a park: Terra Mitica, Mundomar, and Aqualandia. For more info go to our Facebook page.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa La Marina. It was relaxing from the minute we walked in. It felt a bit like a home from home. A great location at the top of the hill and a short walk into town. Being on a hill also meant fantastic views through the palm trees and across the bay. One of those breaks where it was difficult to go home at the end.
