The Experience

You’re in the most beautiful part of Derbyshire; you could happily hole up here for weeks. All is deeply peaceful and comfortable in this fabulous barn conversion, with acres of fields to roam and your own garden to relax in. Find soft greys and lime plaster, lovely linen, latched doors and modern bathrooms (some baths, some showers). It’s the same in the stunning open-plan living area on the first floor with its amazing views and high vaulted ceilings.

Original local art adorns the walls, a wood-burner encourages lounging and cooks will be chuffed with the smart kitchen. The Clarkes – lovely people who live in the farmhouse – provide games, books, advice and logs. They’ll also leave you a homemade cake.

Nearby you’ll discover Peak District National Park walks, a good pub, Chatsworth House, Tissington, Haddon and Kedleston Hall.

Reviews

Helen, Chepstow

An absolute delight - very comfortable, well-equipped, beautifully positioned. We walked through Dovedale from and back to the barn. And then Hartington to Pilsbury Castle loop, and the Roaches and Luds Church. Just fantastic walking, without being too challenging!

Eileen, Wales

A beautiful property well equipped lovely setting friendly owners everything you want for a relaxing holiday.

Alison, Surbiton

We had a lovely visit to Winnow Barn. Andrea was a very welcoming host and the fresh flowers, birthday champers and home-baked lemon drizzle cake were wonderful bonuses. The Barn was immaculately appointed and the lounge/dining/kitchen area was a great space for big breakfasts and and a long dinner. We were also able to make use of the BBQ (we like our food!) Would definitely recommend a stay. Thank you.

Nuala, Suffolk

Winnow Nook was beautifully presented which enhanced our stay. A relaxing week in stunning surroundings, just what we needed. Hosts were very friendly, helpful and informative about the area. We will definitely be back and recommend a stay to others. Thank you

Lovely relaxing place - in the middle of nowhere which is just what we wanted. Ideal for a New Year's get-together - our second stay here. Great hosts and excellent amenities.

Introducing

Andrea Clarke

Andrea and John Clarke took on the restoration job of a lifetime when they bought Damgate Farm fourteen years ago, swapping their professional careers in Sheffield for rare-breed sheep and converting dilapidated barns into three beautiful holiday lets. Now that their two daughters have flown the coop for university they’ve moved in a flock of rescued ex-battery hens and two donkeys, along with a host of other animals who call the farm home.
