Old Red Lion

This is a beautiful house. I spent my birthday here with friends and we had a fabulous time. It is warm and welcoming. The owners have paid so much attention to detail, we literally kicked off our shoes and relaxed! The local area has many eateries (and drinkeries!) It was wonderful to have the parking included too. The weather wasn't good enough to enjoy the garden but it looked lovely. I wholeheartedly recommend the Old Red Lion.

Old Red Lion House was just perfect. It was spacious but cosy and quirky but quintessentially British. The house had everything we needed and felt like a home from home. I didn’t want to leave! Hilary was also a pleasure to have as a host, being there if needed but unobtrusive. Blandford Forum was also an ideal location, both as a base to explore but also as a a focal point in its self, with a wide range of shops and eateries. Highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful and unique house in Blandford Forum. The bedrooms were all well-appointed and comfortable, as well as there being plenty of seating areas in which to relax and chat, or to read one of the 1000 books provided throughout the house. It was helpful that the owner was regularly in touch to ensure that no problems were arising.

We loved staying at The Old Red Lion. The house is beautiful. Everything has been carefully thought out, for example, every seat in the house is placed carefully to facilitate comfort and to chat or relax. Small touches such as the position of lighting and soft furnishings to maximise the warm and cosy atmosphere. My 92 year old mum managed the stairs with a little support and instruction, and there is a handrail for most of the stairs. Blandford Forum is a great location and Hilary kindly recommended a few eateries. We loved it and cannot praise our stay highly enough.

The property was amazing, the pictures do not do it justice. It felt homely and was full of character. We would definitely stay again. Hilary is a great host. She was proactive in contacting us and the information pack we were supplied covered everything. We would 100% recommend staying at the Old Red Lion.
