Old Red Lion

This was the perfect location to spend Christmas with the family. The house was all decorated which made it feel like home when we arrived. Well-equipped kitchen and nice linen on the beds. Enjoyed lighting the log burner and having cosy evenings after supper. Great location for visiting Durdle Dor and Lulworth Cove. Nice finishing touches like the “Welcome Pack”. Old Red Lion is a gem! Would definitely book again.

Excellent holiday house - quiet, spotlessly clean, very well equipped, comfy and cosy, but also full of character - a great house. Lovely little garden at the end of the lane. Blandford cafes and shops on the doorstep. Easy trips out to explore the gorgeous Dorset coastline. Hilary was very helpful throughout. Would thoroughly recommend.

Our expectations were exceeded at our stay at The Old Red Lion ! A delightful characterful property, fully and thoughtfully fitted out and stocked , including a Welcome Pack of Dorset teas, cookies and a bottle of Prosecco ! The hideaway garden is an absolute delight and we spent early evenings there having an aperitif and enjoying the sunshine. The spacious property is ideally located near to the local bakers and butchers/cheese shop. We spotted a kingfisher diving for fish on our walk by the River Stour. The neighbours were characters and really friendly and welcoming. Thoroughly recommended

We spent a busy but relaxing week at the Old Red Lion and found the house incredibly clean, welcoming, comfortable and full of character. Everything required for a family holiday with grandparents, parents and teens was provided. The kitchen-diner was a sociable well used space and a pleasure to cook and play board games in. Lots of great independent shops and eateries in Blandford, and amazing scenery, coastline and properties to visit in Dorset. Thank you.

We loved it at Old Red Lion - it has tonnes of character, very comfortable and was very well equipped for all of our needs. The owner was super friendly and accommodating. It is a great base for exploring Dorset. Brilliant having the benefits of being in the centre of the town but in a quiet spot. We really would have loved to have stayed for another week…next time!
