The Experience

Two chic cottages in a majestic estate flanked by orchards and organic vegetable gardens. Take a drink – or sketchpad – to the terrace for views of Wimborne Minster, distant cricket matches and the birds over Stour Meadows; sunsets are stunning. Exposed stonework reflects the 13th-century origins of these Georgian gardeners’ cottages. Clean-lined interiors reflect 21st-century design. Spotlights gleam off brick walls washed in porcelain white, a rustic yet contemporary canvas for original oils, vintage chairs, oriental cushions. Apple has an inglenook fireplace, Plum an elm table for ten – perfect if you take both cottages together. Sisal carpets lead to simple bedrooms where linen blinds frame meadow views. Cook and eat in modern country kitchens then step out to a private garden lined with fruit trees; each cottage has it’s own gravel patio with removable fencing allowing them to be opened up when booking Apple and Plum together. Plum comes with its own shepherd’s hut: duck egg blue walls and a French enamelled wood-burner. An easy walk from historic Wimborne, a short drive from blue flag beaches at Poole and Bournemouth, and perfect for big groups who can book both cottages and the nearby Gate House.

As four old (literally!) friends, we had a really lovely holiday in Apple cottage which had been recommended to me. Everything about the cottage, it’s amazing garden and surrounding countryside makes you relax straight away. We even saw a little red deer in the field. Jonathan and the staff were so helpful, leaving us goodies and were there to answer any questions. Once through the imposing estate gates we were in the charming little town of Wimborne with it’s beautiful old Minster. We are certainly going to book again.

What a fabulous weekend! Having both cottages made my whole wedding calm, relaxed and wonderful. Getting ready whilst looking out onto the beautiful fields and having photos in my the garden was like a dream come true. The cottages cater for everyone, the home made cookies and fresh milk and bread were a lovely added extra! We couldn’t of been happier over the weekend and can’t wait to come back at some point!

Staying at Plum Cottage over our wedding weekend at Deans Court was incredible. My husband and his ushers stayed the night before our wedding and then we used the remainder of our weekend to relax and take it all in. It is absolutely picturesque with views over the countryside at the rear. The cottage itself has everything you need and the small touches provided by the staff at Deans Court made our stay one of a kind. We will always remember our stay at Deans Court and the special weekend we enjoyed celebrating with family and friends.

Our group stayed at both cottages and the Gate House for a family wedding. The cottages are just delightful...immaculately presented, scrupulously clean and with all sorts of additional little touches which made our stay perfect. Was very pleased to see the environmentally friendly efforts as well(Who gives a c**p loo roll, SMOL household cleaner etc, recycling bins). And the setting is idyllic. I can only thoroughly and completely recommend. Plus a 5 minute max walk into lovely Wimborne. Wish we were back there!!!

Just home from a lovely stay at Plum cottage! We got married at Deans Court and decided to rent the cottage for the week over the wedding. The cottage is beautiful, very clean and although has been modernised has kept a lot of charm and character. I was in the beautiful bath within an hour of arriving and then every day after!

Jen and Mike, Bournemouth

Apple Cottage looks magical on the Deans Court website and it’s even more special when you see it for the first time.... The rooms are all a good size ... We all enjoyed using the large bath and having long breakfasts around the spacious dining table. The sitting room has a wood burner and there’s plenty of wood in a nearby outhouse. The windows mainly look over a large field giving you the sense of being in the country rather than a town. Our weekend stay just didn’t feel long enough and we all agreed we felt very much at home and would like to stay again. What a gem of a place.

Jo, Yelverton

Just got back from our stay and with three generations I wasn’t sure if it was going to be suitable for all but in fact everyone was happy and enjoyed the whole experience Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and beautiful views and skies, almost like being in a Constable painting The shepherd’s hut was the most popular by far and apparently really comfortable and warm We are now planning our next visit as there is much more we want to see and do

Isabelle, Devon

Another great stay at Plum cottage. Relaxing and quiet and comfortable in great surroundings. We will be back again

Plum was just the perfect secluded, quiet and beautifully fitted out hideaway ever! Such a relaxing weekend snuggling around the fire as the rain softly pitted-patter on windows… wonderful, wonderful! When can we return?!!!

grenville, Hamble

We had such a relaxing weekend in Apple Cottage. The house was beautifully presented and very cosy…just what we needed for a cold winters weekend. We were spoiled by Jonathan and Ali with the supplies provided for the weekend and the house is extremely well kitted out, including for young children (we had 2x under 2). Our weekend was very kindly gifted as part of an NHS raffle which I was nominated for and we are incredibly grateful to all the team at Deans Court for making us so welcome in Wimborne.

From the moment we arrived we felt utterly relaxed in this beautifully restored cottage. Like stepping back in time but with all the modern luxuries; beautiful linen, a well equipped kitchen, plenty of wood for the wood burner, a wonderful roll-top bath and comfortable beds and furniture. To top it all there was a utterly magical Shepherds Hut in the garden with a wood burning stove and a double bed where we enjoyed indulgent afternoon naps....The owners and staff are warm, friendly generous and nothing was too much trouble. It really is a beautiful place to stay.

Kim, Poole

Plum Cottage was absolutely beautiful. We loved the views out over the meadows at the back and enjoyed watching the sun set with a glass of wine, even in October. The set up suited us really well (3 generations) as we all had our own space. We loved the feeling of being in the countryside but only a few minutes walk from town. The house was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. The welcome pack and flowers were a lovely touch. We would love to come back, thank you!

Sally, Hampshire

Had a lovely stay again at Plum cottage it’s so tranquil just ideal to chill and relax yet a beautiful market town on your doorstep perfect.

Sue, Wimborne

Our fourth stay in this lovely cottage. A real home from home. There really is nothing missing. We love the peace and quiet whilst being only a really short walk into the town centre. A truly restful weekend break.

Mary, Chelmsford

Top drawer accommodation which is very professionally managed resulting in a very enjoyable stay.

Peter, Salisbury

This is a very well equipped cottage in a very peaceful location looking over open countryside yet within short walk of the centre of Wimborne. We were made welcome and Jonathan was always available to answer any queries. A nice welcome card and delicious welcome hamper of food much appreciated. Wimborne well situated to visit places of interest in cast and country.

Andrew, Lichfield

Such an amazing second stay in Apple Cottage! Just beautiful! So relaxed and chilled in the comfortable and well presented cottage with everything you need for a perfect holiday. The welcome pack was such a fantastic touch together with the beautiful flowers on arrival. There’s nothing to fault other than having to leave! Loved both our stays at Apple Cottage but even more so this time having family in Plum Cottage next door with the fencing removed making it easy to move between both cottages!

Elaine, Broadstone

We stayed at Apple Cottage with friends for our wedding. It was incredibly special and memorable. The most beautiful setting, so peaceful too. The cottage itself was clean, beautifully decorated and the grounds around the cottage are so well kept. Deans Court is stunning, which is why we chose to have our wedding there! You won’t be disappointed! Also added bonus to see the very cute goats in the grounds.

Francesca, Wimborne

Booked both cottages for our sons wedding. A really beautiful setting, so tranquil and the views across the fields made us feel miles away from anywhere . We love Wimborne where you are spoilt for great coffee/ patisserie shops. Both cottages are beautiful with everything you need , really enjoyed the fresh apple juice from the orchard. Jonathan was so helpful . Would be lovely to return one day .

Sue, Bournemouth

The cottage is in the grounds of the estate and it feels as if you are in the middle of the countryside and yet it is only a few minutes walk from Wimborne town centre. It is a beautiful cottage, extremely well equipped and an amazing setting. Would highly recommend it to anybody. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, the cottages are extremely well equipped and the welcome basket of goodies was lovely. We have already recommended these cottages to friends who were unable to make it but want to visit later in the year.
