- Not all the bedrooms are en suite
- The lake is unfenced so watch non-swimmers
- Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead when out walking in the grounds
As a destination for a big get-together, Rowden Abbey is hard to beat. A sense of fun and history pervades the house, you have use of both master's and servants' wings, and much is original and deeply characterful. The setting is sublime, with mature specimen trees, a lake and glorious views. There is much to do all around but you may never leave your gorgeously peaceful and beautiful bubble. A gem.

We loved our stay at Rowden Abbey, from the very start were made to feel so welcome. Charlie had thought of everything, leaving us wanting for nothing. She made a real effort to accommodate our vegan diet too! Nothing was too much trouble. Our rooms were delightful, and the house, beautifully retained it’s Arts and Crafts features. A perfect setting for a couple of days away, thank you
