The Experience
You feel welcome the moment you step into this renovated mountain house by the village church. Oak, spruce and larch abound, many features have been preserved and all is cosy. Catherine and Thierry love to speak English and do bountiful table d’hotes at the long table, or on the terrace in summer (the gardens are delightful). She is a chef and pâtissier, produces for local shops and gives courses in the large spotless kitchen. He is proud possessor of a fleet of 2CVs and a 1947 Traction Avant – book a private tour and set off to explore the mountains with the roof down… Return to log fires, delicious beds, drenching showers.

The neighbourhood
Local points of interest from Catherine Habersetzer
- Our house dates back 1753 and always stayed in Thierry's family since it was built... 10 generations ago !
- Catherine is a professional pâtissière, you will taste her bakeries for dessert at the evening dinner.
- As a board member of the local Tourist Office, Thierry has a lot to tell you about our local history and heritage sites. Let him take you back in time at the dinner table...
- Drive along the Wine Road and visit Obernai, Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé, Colmar, all within easy reach for a day trip.
- Visit the famous Haut Koenigsbourg castle, after a scenic drive from our house, across the mountains.
- Plenty of hiking trails in the area, including 2 marked trails directly from the house : free ordnance maps and guides are available on site.

''We were delighted with our 1 night stay in this lovely converted house near the Vosges Mountains.Catherine is the most accomplished cook & we left distinctly wider around the girth!Thierry was so helpful helping sorting out problems we had with a motorbike & they were both so accommodating when we had to hold them up at supper time. The bedrooms were large & very comfortable & we were made to feel extremely welcome.A highly recommended place to stay in a beautiful & quiet area, easily accessible to Strasbourg & the mountains.''
