The Experience
Italian design at its very best: the original 1930s tiles, the Murano chandeliers, the paintings, the beautiful staircase, fabulous pops of colour and clever lighting; you’ll feel inspired. There’s much warmth and comfort too with a gorgeous sitting room for reading or planning trips – coffee, teas and homemade biscuits at hand. Browse thousands of art books in the library, book a massage, or use the small spa.
Four bedrooms and one suite (in the loft) have lots of natural light, smooth linens, fluffy pillows and plenty of books; bathrooms dazzle with big showers, delicious-smelling soaps and lotions, bathrobes and slippers. Wake to homemade cakes and brioches, frittatas, cured meats and local cheeses – the menu changes seasonally and you need to choose from the menu the evening before.
The large terrace at the back overlooks the street and has a small pool. Listen to the birds, enjoy the mountain views, or take a short walk into town for a stroll along its narrow streets.

Great place and hospitality from Luisa. We enjoyed our weekend getaway! She was quick to respond to our questions and meet our needs. It was kid friendly, the pool was nice, and making pizzas in the oven was fun! The place is comforting with amazing views! Be aware it's not direct or easy access to the lovely home, however it's well worth it.

Luisa and Colin were excellent and friendly hosts. The house offers a fantastic view over Pisa to the sea. The house is very spacious and we had enough room with 5 people. We enjoyed the daily breakfast on the terrace in the sunshine. We only used the pool once. In October it would be perfect if the pool was heated. The driveway to the house is steep and winding. We were grateful that we could use the rental car for this. But after a few days we also got used to the adventurous way up. Hope to see you again. Thanks for all!

Location
The neighbourhood
A guided tour is the best way of discovering why the Camonica Valley is such an important heritage site – one of the longest in the Lombard Alps and with the most stunning collection of ancient rock art. Bienno village, a 10-minute drive, is one of Italy's prettiest. You can ski in winter, there are festivals, harvests to join, and some wonderful restaurants serving Italian classics and ice creams.

Introducing
Colin Pilkington
The house has been in Evelina's family since 1920, when her grandfather bought it. He was passionate about art, and travelled the valley documenting churches and frescoes, paintings and architecture. Evelina and Enzo have restored sympathetically and sustainably, while keeping the lovely, homely feel.
This is truly an amazing spot. You can't ask for a better view every morning you get up. And when you are having lunch or dinner at the terrace. The house has plenty of space and all the things you need. The supermarket is within a short driving distance. Don't forget to use the wood fired pizza oven. Luisa and Colin are fantastic hosts. And you can always ask for advice on where to go. Luisa also helped us out with some basic shopping. So, we had something to start with since we were arriving late. We loved the place and will definitely recommend this place and will book it ourselves again.
