Pure Provence: the views from your traditional stone mas are of vines, sunflowers and distant pines. Welcoming and warm Sarah, who does B&B next door, stocks the kitchen of the small gîte with basics – fruit, wine, olive oil – and often invites guests next door for a drink. She is also happy for you to share the pretty pool but if you prefer the privacy of your own sitting-out area (with barbecue) that's fine too. Inside, the feel is contemporary, light and bright; there's a dear little living/kitchen area with pale tiled floors, sandy walls, cheery blue and yellow curtains with matching cushions and throws, attractive cane armchairs, pale beams. The kitchen in the corner is cleverly designed to include oven, fridge and freezer. (If you need bigger pots and pans, you can borrow them.) Upstairs are two small but adequate bedrooms whose yellow and blue bedspreads, cushions and curtains echo the furnishings downstairs. There's ping-pong, boules and bikes to borrow, and Vaison la Romaine, with restaurants and Tuesday market, is happily nearby.
