The Experience

You are in the heart of a beautiful village – brimming with Cotswold stone walls, tiled roofs, hanging baskets, two churches, cricket ground and jolly pub. This converted 1651 barn shares the owners’ drive; Karen and Paul, green-fingered, open their garden for cream teas in June. Step in to find ground-floor bedrooms, not huge but with thick mattresses and goose down, one with a charming wrought-iron bed, and super bathrooms with travertine floors and glass-tiled showers. More stylishness awaits at the top of the central spiral stair, where ancient oak beams support a large luminous living space of spotlit walls, wooden floors, charcoal sofas… and books, games, retro CDs, DVDs, freeview TV and wood-burner for cosy evenings in. To the side is the kitchen, a convivial space in which cooks can chop and stir. Walks are marked and gloriously rural; Stratford (for theatres) and Cheltenham (festivals and races) are close. Karen, a keen runner and mountain biker, will help you plan routes, and Bredon Hill beckons between old thatched roofs – take time to discover more.

Reviews

We found the barn immaculate and catered for everything we needed for a relaxing weekend away. There are some great walks in the countryside from your doorstep, and as well as the pub nearby there are several other gastro pubs locally available. We hope to return.

Looking for the pefect place to relax or to uses a your basecamp to visit the area? This is as perfect as it gets. Full kitchen, comfortable beds; there is even a fireplace! Spacious, ultra-modern, hyper clean. Never seen accommodations of this level. Even a CD collection and player to broaden your musical horizon. Karen and Paul are great hosts who will be pleased to give you info on the region. Do not miss Stratford upon Avon. We shall return! Too much to see, too little time!

What a fabulous place to stay! We couldn't fault this beautiful converted barn in a very pretty village. It was immaculate, beautifully decorated and furnished and so cosy and warm! The owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and made us feel so welcome. The pub opposite the barn serves lovely food and are also very welcoming. We would most definitely stay again!
