On the ground floor, where animals once munched, are beamed and flagged bedrooms, beds dressed in fine linen, one shower family-size, another wheelchair-friendly, and a stable door to a big sunny terrace; beyond, a lawn, stream and pond. Upstairs is breathtaking: a huge open-plan living space flooded with light, with an immaculate kitchen at one end, a book-lined snug at the other, beautiful rafters above. Country antiques, rugs on pitch-pine, new sofas and old maps add to the charm. Delightful owners Jo and James farm organically, will introduce you to the sheep and the cows, and have created a fabulous area for ping pong, pedal tractors and straw bales for dens... Collect your own eggs, Jo can supply home-grown veg and organic lamb, and their daughter, a demonstration cook for Riverford Organics, can rustle up meals (homemade pizzas included) – and give you lessons. A charming pub is a walk away, historic Launceston is five miles, Trebarwith's sands are 35 minutes. It doesn't get much better than this!
