From our guide to Spain
Migratory geese flap across the magnificent lake created by the damming of the mighty Ebro. Gaze across its sparkling waters to rolling hills from the large lawned garden of this pretty old house...
The dukes of Seville came to this area to escape the blistering heat. You might be tempted to do likewise; you'll still be a bus ride from Spain's sultriest city...
We all know that the Spanish conception of time can be fairly loose. Spaniards firmly believe they determine the course of time and not the other way round. You will have to take this on board and relax about time when in Spain. Enjoy all those little things that can make life so enjoyable, with which the Spaniards regularly indulge themselves. The 'sobremesa', the ubiquitous chat over coffee after lunch; a siesta to cope with the rigours of the hot summers; or 'el paseo', the stroll down the main avenue at dusk with no specific purpose in mind.
