The Experience
The house is 200 years old, rustic and charming. It stands on the side of a hill on the edge of a small Moorish village in the Parque Natural, an hour from Córdoba and Granada, surrounded by farmland. Outside on sloping land are hammocks and picnic tables, figs, almonds, olives and vines, and a small upper terrace overlooking an inviting little pool.
Inside, old doors have become headboards and the cool downstairs bedroom (once the pantry!) now has twin beds. All three bedrooms (two with a terrace) are simple, with delightful thick walls, modest beds, fluffy towels and characterful touches. In the sitting room are books, antiques and modern art.
Breakfast consists of all the usual suspects but you’ll also get olive oil and tomate rallado, Spanish style. Clive cooks delicious dinners, often using their own vegetables, herbs and fruit, which are as Andalusian as possible.

We absolutely adored our week at Finca Las Encinas. Nestled in the olive-clad hills near Iznajar, Maki and Clive offer a truly outstanding gourmet B&B experience - it is hands down one of the lovelilest places we have ever stayed. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the Andalusian campo with birdsong, a delicious breakfast spread with unbeatable views, the best night's sleep in wonderfully comfortable rooms, a doze in the hammock by the pool (all with a couple of the sweetest pups in the vicinity) - I could go on! And of course, Clive's cooking is utterly sublime. Thanks so much both!

A lovely rural finca in tranquil surroundings. Delicious breakfasts and dinners all superbly cooked and presented. Comfortable rooms and outdoor areas and a cooling pool too. Maki and Clive know exactly how to make us feel relaxed and comfortable and were the perfect hosts. We had an easy day trip to the Alhambra in Grenada and enjoyed local walks too. It was a great place to stay for a few nights between Malaga and Seville and I’d thoroughly recommend the finca for others.

We have just returned from rural Finca Las Encinas - it is such a special place! Fabulous location with stunning views, this is the perfect place to relax and enjoy all that this part of Andalucia has to offer. We were welcomed warmly by owners Maki and Clive. Everything was of the highest standard including our room, the bed with good mattress and superb bedding and the level of hygiene everywhere. The outdoor space is filled with beautiful plants and it is hard to tire of the stunning views. The standard and quality of the food prepared is incredibly high and Clive’s dinners are fantastic!

Location
The neighbourhood
Walks in the beautiful Parque will be magical, surrounded by beauty and wildlife. The village of Iznájar is a 10-minute drive. It's a wonderful place which overlooks a reservoir on the Genil river, with narrow streets of whitewashed houses, a castle and churches. A small weekly market is brimming with good things and you'll love the central square with its kissing corner (El Rincón de los Besos).

Introducing
Maki Murakushi Ridout & Clive A Ridout
Maki, Japanese, introduces you to Montilla wine and olive-tasting tours. Clive, Welsh, offers guests cookery courses that are easy, fun and delicious – he has been a professional chef for over 30 years and loves to share his passion. They live here with their family dog and two cats.
One of the most beautiful places I have stayed. Maki and Clive were wonderful hosts, making me feel very at home and relaxed. Maki thinks of everything - she's one step ahead with offering drinks and providing pool towels. Clive's cooking is delicious, lovely flavours with home grown herbs and spices. Everything fresh and local - breakfast was a lovely spread of food. From the dining table there are spectacular views across the valley. Clive and Maki both provided me with lots of tips and information about the area. I particularly appreciated the early morning packed breakfast! The pool is fab
