The Experience

A grand piano graces the living room and sunlight streams through sash windows. There’s a big farmhouse kitchen with plenty of room for all to chop, stir and chat together, plus all the basics for cooking along with a welcome hamper of apple juice and homemade biscuits. The dining table seats 12 and views soar over the valley. Plenty of books and games will keep you busy on blustery days.

Gardens front and back (and comfy loungers) mean you can chase the sun and there’s a barbecue and a fire pit for darkening evenings. An on-site riding school, forest school in the holidays, outdoor summer pool, indoor and outdoor play areas and plenty of animals to pat mean children will tear about outdoors until they’re worn out, so you can get some peace and quiet, or float in the spa pool before a treatment or massage.

Walks from the door are through fields and woodland and there are pocket maps to guide you.

Reviews

Where do we start! We've been coming to Treworgey since 1997, & have amassed almost 100 visits. This holiday was for over a month for our wedding, & I couldn't think of anywhere better to celebrate, with family & friends, than Treworgey. It truly is a piece of heaven,as you drive up the lane, you know you can relax, & everything you need will be catered for...& much more. We remember coming when Farmhouse was the family home, so to see the family touches still in the rooms, makes it even more magical. Once you've found Treworgey, you don't need anywhere else! Comfort, cleanliness, sheer perfection

Joanne, Swindon

We’ve rented The Farmhouse for a few years now, for a ladies’ weekend away. Everyone loves it. It’s warm and cosy in the November gloom. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and beautifully furnished. We enjoy using the Aga in the well-equipped kitchen. And ordering meals from Coombe Kitchen is a bonus. Nothing is too much trouble for Treworgey staff. We use the spa pool with its fab view, and the sauna is welcome afterwards. There are many lovely walks straight from the door.

Gill, Sidmouth

This was our 4th family stay at the Treworgey farmhouse and we are very excited about returning yet again next month! The space allows our family from different parts of the country to get together for a holiday in a lovely, safe setting in sunny beautiful Cornwall. Accommodation is comfortable and homely with full facilities. Now the children are a little older they can roam on their own a little if we choose not to go off to explore further afield. The large kitchen table is big enough for us all to sit around for meals as is the dining room with its stunning views over the valley. Superb!

Dave, Bristol

This is the perfect place for a family gathering - the children will be busy all day with the many activities on site; adults can follow the sun in the gardens, tinker with the piano or cook up a storm on the Aga. It's a comfortable and welcoming type of place.

Location

The neighbourhood

It's a super walk (40 minutes) across fields and small roads to The Plough for a pint. Heartier hikers can set out to Looe, two hours, through the very pretty Kilminorth woods. Here you'll discover a sandy beach, plenty of cafés, The Salutation for good pub grub and fish and chips or pasties. Boat hire, paddleboarding, the South West Coast Path and safe swimming will keep all the family happy.

Local points of interest from Holly & Andy Kyte

  • Walk through the country lanes to our lovely local village pub, The Plough, for delicious food and local ale and cider. Dogs and children welcome!
  • The picturesque fishing town of Looe is just 3 miles away. Stroll through narrow streets and step through ancient tiny doorways into atmospheric restaurants and pubs, take an ice cream to the safe, sandy beach or get your crabbing lines out on the pier.
  • A short drive away you can test your nerves at the action-packed Adrenaline Quarry where you can fly over a huge lake on a zip wire, brave the free-fall swing or leap from high platforms into the quarry lake! A brilliant way to keep teenagers entertained.
  • Inland from Treworgey you can explore the wild and wonderful Bodmin Moor, where dramatic tors rise above windswept expanses of springy grass, gorse and heather. See the old mine engine houses and meet the wild ponies or go wild swimming in an old quarry.
  • Less than 1/2 an hour's drive will bring you to the beautiful town of Lostwithiel, famous for it's array of quirky antiques shops. Meander through the pretty streets and pick up interesting keepsakes from the friendly shopkeepers.
  • Boat trips from our local town of Looe include glass-bottomed boats that glide around Looe Island while the skipper entertains you with local folklore, or mackerel fishing trips out to see from which you can bring back your catch for the barbecue.

Introducing

Holly & Andy Kyte

This is a family business and still a working farm. The outbuildings, all in ruins when Linda and Bevis bought the farm over 40 years ago, have slowly been converted into cottages. Daughter Holly is front of house now with her husband Andy, but Linda is still Head Gardener and Bevis runs the farm. One of their aunts does the home cooked food and cousins help out too. You're well looked after.
