The Experience

A winding wooden staircase takes you up to a beautiful, Parisian-chic apartment. The living space is flooded with light, wide windows look out over treetops – a luxury to be surrounded by such greenery in Paris.

Two doubles are calm and well dressed with framed fabrics and photographs from the owners’ visits to Asia and the Middle East on the walls. In the neat, roomy kitchen you’ll find bread and jam, basics for cooking, as well as olives and a good bottle of wine to keep you going.

The streets are lined with restaurants and the 16th arrondissement is blessed with art galleries and gardens – explore the lovely glasshouses at Serres d’Auteuil. The Trocadero and Claude Monet museum are 20 minutes on foot and the metro can whisk you off to more touristy spots; take a stroll down to the Seine for spectacular views toward the Eiffel Tower.

Reviews

The perfect spot for a blissfully peaceful stay to discover the splendid 16th arrondissment in Paris – and some of the best shopping, galleries and gardens in the city. The private street means that the scooters that plague the evenings are inaudible. The owner is a specialist in Central Asia and the apartment is decorated with erudition and charm.

Introducing

Isabelle

Charming Isabelle or her team meet her guests and is truly fascinating. An ethnologist, she was introduced to embroidery by Hubert Givenchy while she was modelling in the 70s. A world-renowned expert in Moroccan and Central Asian fabrics, she has written several beautiful books on the subject. The apartment has been a base between her research trips along the old silk route through Asia and the Middle East.
