The Experience

A hop from the north Cornish coast, this smartly renovated slate and granite house sits in a tiny hamlet with wide green views to Bodmin. Inside, original flags and exposed stone walls are offset by earthy colours, velvet and leather furnishings and textured rugs.

An impressive kitchen with a sweep of work surface, soft-close cupboards and an Everhot heating stove calls out to cooks who will delight in turning fresh local produce (there are two farm shops within 15 minutes) into tasty treats. There’s masses of space for your group to help with the chopping or pull up a barstool and chat. Eat inside or out – fire up the barbecue on sunny afternoons.

Stride from the door down quiet lanes with valley views, drive to the beach in 20 minutes, return to bubble in the hot tub or snuggle by the wood-burner and watch a movie on the big TV screen. Bedrooms upstairs have an indulgent amount of cushions, the master has a tub.

Reviews

Now on our way back home we would like to say thanks for a superb holiday in the beautiful Treglasta Manor. The house was fantastic and we appreciated all the groceries and Christmas decoration that was set up for us. So a big thank you and many thankful greetings to the owners!

Leena, Finland

The house was wonderful and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our week!

Lucy, London

I can imagine relaxing here with friends - preferably including a keen cook who'll make the most of local farmshop food in the smart kitchen! Heading off to nearby beaches and the South West Coast Path, or walks on Bodmin Moor - heading back to a barbecue and a soak in the hot tub...

Annie, Sawday's Inspector

An outstanding Cornish house, well equipped and beautifully designed and decorated. It is obvious that a lot of thought and love has gone into its overall style. It is all very modern but sympathetic to the age of the property. We loved it! It was perfect for our requirements.

John, London

The retreat is in a gorgeous spot and the house itself is beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and has been thoughtfully provided with everything you could need. The hot tub is blissful and the owners extremely responsive. We were a group of two families and had a wonderful holiday. Thank you, Jo

Location

The neighbourhood

The Camelot garage on the other side of Camelford sells great Cornish pasties. Boscastle Farm Shop & Cafe and Hilltop Farm Shop are both a 15-minute drive while Camelford (eight miles) and Launceston (12 miles) have good independent butchers. Other beaches to note are Crackington Haven and Widemouth Bay, on the south side of the bay; Black Rock Beach is dog-friendly all year round.
