You should know
- Parking is expensive at the NCP car park across the road (or it's a walk to somewhere cheaper)
- The rooms are set among steepish staircases and narrow mazy corridors, so it's not for those who struggle with mobility
- The hotel doesn't really welcome children, but will make an exception if you'd like to bring a cot

Seeing is believing at Parador 44, a boutique take on the Iberian country idyll, with nine characterful bedrooms decked in timber and terracotta, complete with ornately carved beds and bespoke Spanish tiles. The downstairs restaurant, Asador 44, is a copper-lit cavern specialising in dry-aged Spanish sirloin and Welsh lamb, cooked over fire.
