The Experience
Loved up couples will be very snug here but it’s equally good for one if you want some space. This used to be the forge for the local blacksmith and its whitewashed exterior with oxblood paintwork sits well in the landscape. The stable door takes you into one room with cobbles and flagstones on the floor, a high beamed ceiling and a big old cowl over the fireplace. Climb a wide ladder with proper steps to the loft and sleeping platform with a Velux window for stargazing, local woven cushions and soft Welsh blanket on the bed.
A dinky, open-plan kitchen is perfectly adequate and you’re left a bottle of wine and some Welsh cakes. Take them out to your own picnic bench with views over the valley, or barbecue your supper out here on balmy evenings, you won’t hear anything much but birdsong.
Walk, cycle, visit castles, go mackerel fishing or explore interesting towns and villages, bring the freshest fish and seafood home to cook.

A beautiful little cottage in a village far away from the general run of life. I have it in mind to return for a longer stay soon.

A very romantic place to stay. In summer leave the stable door open and spill out to the little garden with lovely views. You'll feel very private even though there are other people around. In winter it'll be super to stay indoors, get the wood-burner going and cook good food.

- There is plenty to do in this beautiful area - The Coast, stunning beaches and 60 miles of coastal path (for walking and watching for dolphins from) is only a handful of miles away. We are in a very quiet rural location
- We are so lucky to have a wealth of excellent places to enjoy in the area, from seaside BBQ’s , riverside Tipis with outdoor fires serving amazing pizzas, harbour-side restaurants serving fresh fish, lobster & crab All within easy reach of The Mil
- Dolphins , Porpoise and Seals are often spotted from the coastal path & beaches - Picnic on the Peninsular that juts out called Ynys Lochtyn and watch for Dolphins - Llangrannog is very close by, hire Kayak here and explore the hidden coves along the coast
- There are two Cinema /Theatres in Cardigan (10 miles) and in Aberystwyth we have the National Library and Arts Theatre
- The cottage has a small private garden with a picnic bench, that overlooks the valley, there is also a BBQ - its the perfect place to sit and read read a book or enjoy a cocktail!

Introducing
Spot & Charlie
Spot has a background in film and TV, Charlie in theatre. They met in Cheltenham and both wanted to live the Good Life and to experiment with interiors. They have a smallholding here with geese, ducks and chickens. They love to walk and they love the sea and west Wales. This is a close community with a big local art movement - Spot has a gallery in the village.
We absolutely loved our stay at both this property, and the property next door - Y Felin https://www.sawdays.co.uk/britain/wales/ceredigion/the-old-mill-y-felin/ Amazing escape in really thoughtfully and tastefully put together properties, lovely quality time for us and our doggo. We will be back!
