- Waking up early and spotting deer or sometimes boar in the fields near the barn
- Visiting the national park in spring or autumn to witness migratory birds on their route to or from warmer climes: Honey Buzzard, Cirl Bunting and Turtle Dove, rare in the UK, are all common here
- Borrowing bikes and exploring on two wheels
You should know
- Up to two dogs are welcome. The owners also have a dog that you'll meet
- The mezzanine won't suit really small children
- The lakes are unfenced
I visited on a beautiful sunny autumn day and was enchanted by the setting and the welcoming atmosphere. The gîte has been meticulously restored and converted, while retaining many original features – oak beams and terracotta tiled floors. I was made to feel very welcome by the owners, who are charming and friendly.
