The Experience

Beware the urge to stay for weeks! Visit Rome’s other highlights then return to lose yourself in the thrub of fascinating, twisting streets of this colourful, characterful neighbourhood: Via dei Coronari, Piazza Navona, Via del Governo Vecchio. The best view from this peachy, classic 18th-century palazzo is from the smallest room facing the beautiful Bramante church. Your gracious, knowledgeable hosts (interior designer and architect – obviously!) couldn’t be more helpful. Their third-floor guest rooms are in two adjacent apartments, each with a foyer sitting area. One is more contemporary with stripped doors, framed black and white photographs and architectural drawings, brown suede and grey flannel headboards, modern lighting, light grey walls. The other has teal blue walls, period paintings, antiques on parquet floors, gorgeous fabrics for curtains, bedspreads and cushions. Bathrooms are designer modern with grey glass mosaics and locally made soaps. You breakfast royally in your room, on a large trolley with porcelain cups, cake, toast, homemade jams, yogurt and cereal. A real Roman treat of a place.

Wow! We had the best time here - not only is the location right in the hub of it all - a stone's throw from Piazza Navona, but Alessandra's warm welcome and thoughtful recommendations were spot on for us. Our room was at the back, very elegant, with everything we could possibly need and a really quiet haven to return too after a busy day out. Breakfast was a real treat too. This was the perfect base for our first time in Rome and we'd recommend it to anyone - but be careful you really won't want to leave!!

Local points of interest from Daniela Ferragni

  • Piazza Navona (100mt) is a city square in Rome, . It is built on the site of the Stadium of Domitian, built in 1st century AD, and follows the form of the open space of the stadium. The ancient Romans came there to watch the agones ("games"),
  • Very close to the Vatican City (1km). It is a major attraction for tourists, with famous masterpieces such as the "Sistine Chapel" and "Vatican Museums".
  • Villa Borghese is a beutiful park inthe centre of Rome, very close to via Veneto: In the Park there is Galleria Borghese, museum with Bernini's sculptures; you will also find The Casina Valadier , historic roman restaurant.
  • La Pace del Palato ( 50mt) is a very small restaurant decorated in a very refined, family run with a chef that will amaze you for the quality of its food.
  • Sangallo ai Coronari (100mt) is a restaurant in the heart of Rome with the possibility to dine out of doors, very stylish and elegant reported on many guides as the "red shrimp"
