Down a long private drive with fields on either side is a lovely 18th-century farmhouse, elegant but not intimidating, with a sense of timelessness. A large open hallway and a cosy sitting room where tea and a drinks tray are provided are peaceful spaces for relaxing with a book. You breakfast in the dining room, on local muesli, bread, marmalades and jams, milk from their Jersey cows, soft fruit from their garden, sausages and bacon from down the road. Peaceful, light and large bedrooms in an adjacent wing have modern bathrooms, country house furniture and long views to glorious gardens. Unwind in the peace.

My family loved Whitton Hall including the very lovely family who run it. Nothing is too much trouble, everything is thought of. It was so hard to leave. We only left so that we might have the pleasure of returning again! Thanks Kate and of course to your wonderful parents for making us so welcome.

Stayed 2 nights - super welcome and location - comfortable & quirky room (just away from the house) - extensive & well-kept gardens - excellent breakfast. We have booked to return!!

What a wonderful place to take a break! Very comfortable accommodation in a converted building, with a modern bathroom (bath and shower). The family, plus dogs, made us very welcome, and the home from home cooking, breakfast and dinner was exceptional. The kitchen garden provides a lot of the fruit and vegetables and the home made preserves were delicious. Kate goes out of her way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The setting is beautiful and the owners are very keen gardeners, so there is a lot to admire and enjoy, including impressive cloud pruning of an old yew hedge.

Whitton Hall is a very special place to stay. The family provide a wonderful welcome and invite guests to share the beautiful gardens, working farm with pretty Jersey herd as well as the fine Georgian hall and surrounding countryside. From the moment you draw up alongside Whitton Hall, with its low mellow brick wall on one side and landscaped lake on the other, you know you have discovered somewhere that captures an enchanting Englishness which is both a delight and privilege to know.

My teenage children loved being involved with milking the cows, walking the dogs and picking fruit and veg for supper. I loved the tradition of a truly family-run farm and the tranquility of this idyllic spot, with the added bonus of a restorative massage from Kate. We all returned completely invigorated and will definitely visit again.
