The Experience
Giacomo bought this early 20th-century property in 2015 and has renovated what were once living quarters, storerooms, stables and a chapel into a minimalist B&B.
A simple breakfast of fruit, yogurt, cakes, juice, tea and coffee is served in the main living room; you’re welcome to rustle up an aperitivo here too if you wish. Spend long sunny days next to the swimming pool, curl up with a book in one of the semi-circular nooks in the sitting room on a rare rainy day, or jump in the car to explore the surrounding countryside and coast.
Nearby Polignano a Mare is perched on limestone cliffs and has a tiny old town complete with winding streets, medieval whitewashed houses and panoramic views of the aquamarine coast – head to the beach to watch spectacular cliff diving in the summer. Monopoli (20 minutes) is a port town with a 17th-century bell tower and cathedral. Bari and Brindisi airports are equidistant – about 50km away.

- The stylish interiors
You should know
- There's no restaurant onsite - you'll have to drive

Location
The neighbourhood
There are other villas around the property which are in the process of renovation or have already been renovated, but overall you're pretty secluded and quiet. You’re down a dry stone wall lined road that’s typical of this part of Apulia. It’s 5km to Poglinano a Mare for quaint streets, artisan shops and good spots for an aperitivo. Head to Alberobello, a 30 minute drive, to see the famous trulli village.

Introducing
Giacomo De Marzo
Giacomo De Marzo and his wife live above the property and are very friendly and helpful but will otherwise leave you to your own devices.
This stylistic retreat is strategically positioned away from the crowds of Polignano and Bari in August but near enough to the multitude of places to visit and enjoy in Apulia to keep you entertained. The rooms are very trendy and modern with all the essentials as well as a Mediterranean shrub garden and a modern pool, not to mention the San Martino Chapel for a little cleansing of the soul.
